They did the work at a very reasonable price but the service reflected this.
I'll start by saying we packed a lot of our own stuff (mainly the boxed items) then they moved us from our storage unit to a place three hours away. There were a few things damaged already in the storage unit but the amount of things damaged or destroyed during this part of the move was unacceptable. This in conjunction with the often disrespectful treatment of our property was just too much for me.
At one point the foreman on the job had my deceased fathers signed 1988 olympic baseball bat simulating a sex act. The bat came loose from its holder and almost flew across the truck. I didn't even say anything at the time but I was so insulted. We had a family heirloom table broken badly. They offered to try and fix it but we opted to use a furniture shop in our new town. I'd say overall about 1/4 of our items were damaged or destroyed.
They didn't secure my toolbox properly and it flipped over during part of the move. It's just a toolbox and I don't mind the cosmetic damage too much but I hired professionals for a reason. I'm just discovering that some of the drawers no longer close properly. It was expensive.
The workers were mostly good people and worked their butts off but I just never felt like our stuff was in safe hands.
I haven't spoken to them since or even attempted to file an insurance claim. I'm just glad the experience is behind us. I don't know that other movers are better but I felt the need to share my experience here.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Dave Mediola is the definition of 3D — Dedicated, Determined, and Devoted — and he truly lives up to every one of those words. From the very first conversation, Dave brought an energy and professionalism that instantly put me at ease, even though my move was complicated and had a lot of moving parts. He didn’t just “do his job” — he took ownership of making sure every single detail was handled so that my move was as smooth as possible.
What really impressed me was how proactive and organized he was. Dave even set up meeting reminders so we could coordinate every step, knowing I was moving across the state and had a local stop along the way. That extra thoughtfulness made all the difference and kept everything on track without me feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
And let’s talk about his personality —not only is he bilingual, he’s got that upbeat, DJ-style voice that makes you feel like everything’s going to be fun, not frustrating. His positive energy is contagious, and even on the most chaotic moving days, he somehow managed to make me smile. He truly cares about his clients, and it shows in how he communicates, follows through, and checks in to make sure you’re comfortable with the process.
Moving can be exhausting, but with Dave, it felt easy, even enjoyable. He’s not just helpful — he’s a problem-solver, a motivator, and the type of person you instantly trust to get things done right. I honestly can’t recommend him enough. If you want someone who’s going to make things happen, keep you organized, and treat your move like it’s his own, Dave is your guy!
I've used Chapa's once before, and Dave is the reason I came back the second time. I will also be calling Dave when I move into my forever home in year, so thank you, Dave!! Eres un chingon, vato!

Pablo Mario and candelcero employees from Chapa’s moving service did a amazing job they resemble and assemble your moving items and tailor to any of your needs they are fast effecient and safe I’ve used them multiple times highly highly recommenced won’t ever use any other moving service great customer service

These guys were wonderful! On time, super professional and polite. Our move was a little challenging with broken elevators and rain, but the guys were upbeat and positive and got the job done with tons of care.

If you want your furniture damaged with zero accountability, go with CHAPA’S. My $1,100 Herman Miller chair was dropped off the ramp and wrecked. They offered me $120 and hid behind fine print — without ever offering full-value protection upfront.
They ignored my email for 2 weeks. When I called, they just said “email us.” I had to push hard just to get a response.
The lead mover kept asking for a tip, even after the damage. You pay more expecting quality, but once the job’s done, they disappear. Avoid.

They charge like a 2 hour min, keep that in mind if it takes less time, totally worth it, if the job doesn't take as long. The 3 gentlemen showed up on time, polite, and chill. It helped that we had already moved a lot so smaller items wouldn't be in the way, they treated all our items with care, no damage on anything. Didn't need to micromanage and just let them do their thing. Make sure your stuff is ready to get shipped beforehand and you'll be all good to go. Very very happy with the service.

I’ve used them for couple moves, this last time they broke my couch now doesn’t recline, and they broke my vanity mirror on the corner left.

They just finished helping us pack and loading a pods. They were very courteous quick and careful with all of our belongings. I would highly recommend them. Yhey actually under charged, so I recommend giving them a good fat tip.

We have used Chapa’s moving service twice. & they did not disappoint! They were very professional very polite and very reliable! They were on time and made both of my moves very easy!! We appreciate how affordable they are and remain! Thank you Chapas moving service for making our move to our brand new home such a breeze! Definitely recommend!

Great experience with Chapa's!! Raul came out to evaluate days prior to our 250 mi move. I reserved and used a separate medium moving truck along with the large truck they have for the size of move. The packing and moving went smoothly as can be; staged over three days. Nice guys, work hard. Nothing broke during the move. I'll hire them again for our next move.

I hired chapas moving service to move all my furniture and personal belongings to my new home and they dropped several items and damaged one of my new bedroom drawers. They didn't even wrap any furniture. Not happy at all.

Great service from these guys. I really appreciate it. Dave, Julio and Hector ( sorry if i got the names wrong, i am terrible with names ) got me packed up, moved and unloaded in hardly any time at all. Really cool bunch of guys. I highly recommend using Chapas. Theyre very organized in how the load up and move your stuff

Avoid being deceived by these people; they claim to charge $99 per hour, but the actual rate is $263. Review the quote they provide you word for word. I only needed two workers for an hour and they charged me almost $300 for one hour absurd !!! I will never get in touch with them again.
