We have taken our cats here for emergency care, but we recently took our dog as an emergency case late one night. He was having severely loose bowel movements and vomiting. They took him back right away and started blood tests, x-rays, etc. They were very transparent about pricing and what was happening each step of the way. Our fur baby ended up being admitted as he needed IV’s, antibiotics and to be monitored. I received pictures of him and updates throughout his short stay. They sent us home with medication and a plan. Our boy is back to himself. For what we paid, considering the services that would given, it was reasonable.

Worst service! They kept my 1,629.00 dollars for 3 weeks and kept giving me the runaround as to when they would return my money!rude customer service, and hung up on me when trying to get answers

More of the same.... took my cat and left after paying 400 dollars in "tests" just to have them tell me he had a UTI which I knew. Best part is when they come out with an "estimate" they wanted 2006.53 dollars for my cat to stay 3 days with a catheter and IV.... I then said whoa I can't just agree to that let me think it over and I'll come back. (I like getting different quote)... she leaned over and said you let me know how much can pay and I'll work with you. Idk about anyone else but that makes me feel like I'm being swindled. I said no thank you I'll just pay my bill as it is now and I'll come back if I decide to. She said ok and left. Once i got annoyed of waiting which was a long time I asked to pay my bill again and moment's later she came back in and said i have 3 options for you. 1st being the original at 2k roughly the send option being 1643.12 that includes the catheter and meds but he goes home after the catheter is put in and u come back to remove catheter 3 days later. The final option was for 698.12 and that was just for medication no actual treatment. I politely said non thank you. I paid that day 399 dollars for test that told me it was a UTI and she even down played how serious it was and said he didn't show to have a BLOCKAGE. I waited a day he got worse I ended up taking him somewhere else and with no testing they rushed him and confirmed he has a BLOCKAGE which they removed. So had I paid for option 3 I would have paid for nothing at all since he would have died anyway. He's all better now but no thanks to this place. They only care about money it's obvious or only care to provide services to people silly enough to pay blind sums of money due to their pet love. Mcallen Edinburg veterinarian is mygo to place and will stay that way.

First time here and it was a good experience. My dog was hurt and this was the only place that would take us as a walk in. Sure the wait was long in the lobby, but that was expected. Once we were taken into a room the technician was awesome with my dog. Checked on us regularly and the Dr was nice and explained everything good.

Update to reply: My visit was due to an emergency where I then used this facility for outpatient services since it’s my turn to clarify. The vet never once approached me during my on time SCHEDULED appointments but seems as the owner is always at fault when dealing with this facility…. As mentioned below I was offered to be seen but at DOUBLED the cost which I did prolong my pets care for one day (as stated below) to find another vet that would actually take my concerns into consideration rather than double the cost for a simple bandage change which usually takes 5-10 minutes during my appointments with you (911 pet doctor). Very interesting the way this operation “clarifies” events. Thank you for your concerns my pet is now recovering fully through another vet! :)Considering how the owner of this place had to use passive-aggressive comments in past reviews to justify their service is unprofessional. The owner of this place having to bring up a patient’s personal experience, situation, and information to be posted publicly to justify that their service was fair is unprofessional. This place doesn't let the owner observe the treatment their pet is receiving is unethical. Not being able to know what your pets are being treated with is unprofessional. The vet not voluntarily providing face-to-face conversation about your pet's treatment and progression is unethical. My pet’s wound started as a superficial wound with no broken bones that ended up with necrotizing tissue throughout the entire muscle where my pet now needs amputation from a new vet that is truly concerned. Every appointment I went to have my pet’s wound checked I asked for updates on the recovery process, any vet comments, or pictures. All I was told every appointment by vet assistants/tech was, “The vet said it’s a slow healing process….can not be determined until next visit…it’s looking good….vet didn’t say much this time”. I did receive two sets of pictures, but only if I asked them! After reviewing the pictures I asked about the limb and asked what the vet thought about this part of the limb. They weren't able to follow up since either the vet didn't give them updates on anything or the vet failed to provide voluntarily face-to-face communication with me about my pet's care. I had to prolong my pet’s care by ONE day due to them raising the price extremely high for being 30 minutes late and wanting to leave this place AMA (against medical advice) just to have another veterinarian’s opinion on my pet’s limb the next day since it was the weekend. If the vet from this place truly cared they would’ve offered a main diagnosis after so many appointments, a prognosis on the affected limb, and what is the next best plan of care for my pet based on multiple days of data collected from visit, after visit. It is an OKAY place for an emergency, BUT ?I would NOT recommend them for outpatient services since they just prolong care instead of treating?. ⚠️IF IT CAN WAIT GO TO YOUR MAIN VET!!!! ⚠️

My cat Guy had to be rushed to the office. Exams showed multi-system organ failure. Front office lady, vet tech and the vet were so so supportive. The vet tech kept giving me updates and info. The vet was so good at explaining the exam results and answering my questions. I took comfort I was ending his suffering by putting him to sleep. I sincerely thank everyone for allowing me my time to say good bye, being there during the procedure, and permitting me to continue to mourn the loss of my friend.

My girl brought her dog here whose eye was popping out and they refused her service. She said one of the ladies upfront was being rude, so when she gave her the same energy back the lady told her she had the right to refuse service. They got into a verbal altercation and this lady told her “good luck with your dog.” His eye needs to be removed and as one of the only vet places that does surgery’s they refused him and then to add salt to the wound knowing they’re one of the only ones told her good luck with your dog. She got every word thrown at her when it should’ve been something else thrown at her. We were able to take him to north 10th street animal hospital after telling them the story they were shocked and accepted him immediately even though they only go by appointment.

I was visiting the valley with my two dogs, when both sustained severe injuries from a shock collar. The doctors were very caring and careful when it came to treating our dogs. We were immediately taken to a room and seen by a doctor with little to no wait. They were upfront about the cost before proceeding with any procedure and gave us everything we needed to care for our pets before we left. I am extremely thankful for the team members and would recommend if you aren't able to see your local veterinarian.

I've brought my GSDs dog here several times for many reasons and have been treated with great care each time. I waited my turn and was out within a few hours. a few weeks ago my corgi had 15 seizures in one morning, they took him in right away and started treatment. I knew he was in good hands and trusted the clinic. 3 nights later, my corgi was back home, and is making a full recovery. The reception staff, vet techs and vets were very kind and willing to answer any question or give updates at any time. I'm very thankful for these guys.

Took our cat Smocha in for emergency check up. The staff was very friendly, very gentle with her. Dr was informative of what was going on and what he recommended. Gave detail on pricing for services before doing anything. Wait was fair due to him having other pets to attend to. I’m very glad they were there to help, and that they are open 24 hours.

I never write reviews but I had to write this one… a week ago my baby started acting sick he didn’t want to eat and was really down took him to another vet and they said he was fine just a little depressed; on Sunday I was sent over here and I was really scared because of all the negative reviews people have left, but they took really good care of my Kujo they really saved his life. All the staff and I mean all of the staff were really helpful and kind, every time I called they’d have an update and even sent me pictures of him so I could see how he was doing. With all that being said I know it can be expensive but for going in on a Sunday night at 9 and having a two day stay i knew it would be, but we had credit left over and we will be able to use that for all his follow up care. I can’t thank everyone who worked with us these last couple of days enough my baby is home and he’s back to his regular self.

I called Wednesday regarding a prescription my dog needs for her food since she has had surgery for bladder stones 3 times and needs this specific food. Lady told me she would send me the prescription via email so my dog could get the good she needs. Never got the email, called again today, Saturday, only to find out that this clinic actually has a policy in place where my dog needs to be seen again. We recently relocated 9 hours away, I just lost 96 hours where I couldve just made an appointment elsewhere. Training your staff to know "your" policies, instead of making false promises. Absolutely disappointed with this clinic

They saved my doggy when she was very ill. Would bring her here a thousand times more. I was able to call and get updates several times a day. Staff was so great, I felt comfortable leaving Pepper with them. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for saving my baby.. ?

We had to take our cat Sammy in because he became so lethargic and could not pee. As we figured he had a urinary blockage, and needed to be treated right away. We went in in the middle of the night. And they were very kind to us. Explained everything, and they had a few emergencies ahead of us, but they still saw us in a reasonable time frame. We left our cat there several days and were able to bring him home. I was able to call for updates often and they explained everything well. Other than the price, which is expected since it's an ED for pets, all else was excellent. Our cat is alive and thriving since then.

I took my baby Lenny here and it was the first time he was ever sick or hurt and we had trouble with the paying process but the staff walked us through everything, the staff and the dr were very nice and understanding. the way lenny looked When he got there I thought we had lost him but he’s the same as he was before the medication and everything helped a lot and I’m so glad they could help him overall the best first experience with a vet we could’ve had.
