“A supermarket that offer convenient introduction to anyone interested in Southeast Asian (specializing mainly in Chinese, Korean and Japanese) foods. Decent selections, fresh produce ideal for immediate consumption (within 3 days). Be aware, parking may be congested and chaotic at times.”
“Great Market!!! The Vendor and Staff are so friendly! I love going back every week!!! Especially for Dolly’s Girl Organic Drinks and Products! They also have Farmers with fresh veggies and fruits!”
“The World’s Greatest Cinnamon Rolls & Kolaches – Sterlings Farmers Market
Located at 5801 San Felipe, Houston, TX 77057, Sterlings Farmers Market is an absolute gem.
The cinnamon rolls are melt-in-your-mouth, sinfully delicious—easily some of the best I’ve ever had.
The kolaches? Unreal. I honestly couldn’t decide between the regular sausage, sausage & cheese, jalapeño sausage & cheese, sausage egg & cheese, or the Polish sausage & cheese.
I finally went with the Polish sausage and the sausage, egg & cheese…
OMG. Both were absolutely incredible. The egg kolache is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The Polish sausage was next level—and I found out it’s sourced from a family-run market on the South Side of Chicago, which explains the flavor.
This is officially my new Saturday breakfast spot.
Had the chance to meet the owner, Pam—super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely cares about the experience.

“Universal Food International Groceries catered for our wedding. We arranged food for 80 people, however, the amount of food that we received could easily feed 120 people. Biye Bari Chicken roast and spicy beef curry were awesome. Vegetable dish was sneaky good. They also made Shami Kababs on special request. All the food were really good. However, it's the service that stood out most. Ordering process was smooth and they accommodated last minute changes. I would definitely come back to them for future events. I highly recommend them for your upcoming events.”
“I'm always looking for special fruit trees too grow, it's for our good to plant a tree for our health and environment and the Brazilian grape tree is a must have, it's a strange fruit that grows on the bark of the tree and it's very healthy for us”
“First time coming to this place and it didn’t disappoint??Fresh fruit and everything made to order. We got cueritos preparados, elote en vaso con todo, sandia preparada, and 2 aguas frescas. They make orders to your liking so I love that!.Was short $4 and he was telling me not to worry and pay him next time.(Went next door to the store, pulled money and paid the $4+tip just for that awesome gesture.) Very good people???Stop by and support your locals!!.”
“First experience was amazing. The mangos were sliced perfectly and delicious. The watermelon and pineapple was good too. I tried to go back twice last week but the truck wasn’t there. Haven’t been able to find it since. It’s a shame really. Nothing like good fresh fruit”
“Found so many good deals here today! Went to get frozen eggplant because a friend told me how good it is. Can't wait to make eggplant parmesan in a day or two!”
“A very efficient sort of store, less walking needed to get what you need. Prices are excellent, and I have always found the people to be very nice that work there. I have to watch certain food additives in my diet, and Aldi tends to have healthier choices (less chemicals added). I guess being a German company, they were naturally going to be efficient and they are. I find that their price on a lot of things I buy tend to be a buck or more cheaper than other stores. (Guacamole and tortilla chips, potato salad, fresh mushrooms, English Muffins, Bagels, bacon and sausage, and those stuffed salmon fillets all tend to be at least a dollar cheaper than other stores). they don't have as many choices for each type of food, but if you are buying basic items they tend to offer a very good option. Their milk and egg storage is a little difficult to contend with - not stocked right at the door so much, but you have to reach in and perhaps lift something to get at it, but not a big deal.
It took me a few trips there to figure out what I liked and where to find it. Now it saves a lot of time and needless walking. And I end up saving a decent amount with each visit. I don't much care for their cart system, since it does not cycle through the entire stack of carts. (should be FIFO, not LIFO for you computer geeks out there). So the ones that get used a lot have the tread worn off the tires, (but they still roll OK).
I carry an insulated bag in my trunk, so that holds the cold stuff as i load the food into my car.
They tend to operate with only 1 cashier, but that person is very fast. If they get backed up, they open another lane. No complaints, and they always greet you nicely. I think the parking lot arrangement could be a bit more efficient, but it is not too bad. They offer curbside pickup, but I have not tried it.
A great option for a normal trip to the grocery, since you save time and money on excellent quality items. If you want to buy in bulk or want to choose from 30 types of peanut butter, then perhaps one of the bigger stores is a better fit.”
“I wasn't this part of town and had 30 minutes to spend so I stopped over at this location. When stock store that has variety of items. I love their fruit selection/collection.”
“I want to reply to those who are upset about paying a quarter for a cart. First of all, you get your quarter back. Second, this is one way Aldi keeps prices low.. they don't have to employ enough people to go out and gather carts in the parking lot. Plus your car is safer in the parking lot because there's no errant carts rolling around and hitting your car. Get over it. Aldi Shopping is fun, and this is a great Aldi. You save tons of money.”
“Love Aldi, good prices, friendly cashier all the time i went to this store they are super friendly, some ppl that do the stock are very friendly too. They have an area where they have candles and stuff to decorate for any season”
“(Translated by Google) I have always felt comfortable shopping in this market, the employees are very attentive and the products are excellent.(Original)Siempre me he sentido a gusto comprando en este mercado, sus empleados son muy atentos y los productos excelentes.”
“I love this local Aldi. Always well maintained and organized, and the workers are so eager to help and friendly. Sometimes too busy, but the cashiers work fast. You can find tasty seasonal items from Germany.”
“If you are in Houston/Suger Land area or even Missouri City or surrounding then this Indian supermarket will be much helpful to get all Asian food related items. Everything you need for a healthy Asian meal. Washrooms and ample parking lots (normal in Texas) also there is a small restaurant inside for fresh Indian foods. Highly recommended supermarket.”
“During the 2yrs of covid pandemic, my boss asked me to get groceries for needed families, he recognized the struggles of families around us, Mr. Jim Godwin generously allocated funds each month to purchase groceries for ten families, most of whom were laid off or facing severe financial difficulties. His kindness did not go unnoticed—many elderly individuals, who were especially vulnerable during this time, also benefited from his compassionate efforts.
Through this initiative, we were able to distribute essential food items such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, and pantry staples. Each month, they would come to my garage and pickup the bags of essential foods purchased at Aldi's, the support provided by Mr. Jim not only relieved immediate hunger but fostered a sense of connection within the community. Recipients expressed deep gratitude, and it was heartwarming to see how these small acts of kindness provided hope and comfort in difficult circumstances. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be a good Samaritan to others.”
