A nice site worth visiting if you appreciate history and happen to be in the area. I visited on a Monday and had the entire place to myself, so I can only assume there probably isn't a lot of local interest. The site runs off donations, but I couldn't leave anything since the donation box was locked. Regardless, a good spot to check out if you are passing through the area.

Not alot to see, but it's still very interesting and a historical site. The wife and I were in the area and stopped by as we were passing it one day. I plan to take the kids back, just because of its importance in Texas history.

Enough left to get a good idea of what it was. Another piece of Texas history. Nice setting.

I was pleased to find this historic site. There are several kiosks with information about the Presidio. I enjoy taking pictures and wandering the site trying to imagine how it must have been there in the 1700s.

Didn't know this existed but glad I found it. Idyllic setting next to the San Saba River. There's some walking trails next to the river and the town has some really neat old homes. We rented a vrbo on the river and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Recommend!

Quiet and empty and an interesting historical site. There's a reason there are Six Flags over Texas.

Awesome little historic site. Took my 6 and 9 year old here for about an hour on a trip to feed store. Just enough to keep them interested without getting bored. Nice parking/restroom/picnic area. Good view of the river.

Very nice place to stop along a nice trip. Clean restrooms and a picnic area make it an ideal place for a couple or a family to stop.

Nice and lonely. Lots of history. That was on our way from Del Rio, TX to Dallas. We're glad we took that route ✌️

Worth a short visit, but pales in comparison to the other historic presidios.

Presdio de San Saba is a historic location that contains the ruins from an old Colonial Spanish Settlement. There is much history in this area even predating the Spaniards. Today, there isn't much left other than a few ruined walls, a turret, and the remains of the mission perimeter. If you're passing through the area, I highly recommend visiting.
