Received a car with deflating & uneven tires. The windshield wiper fluid was empty and the car was very dirty, inside and out. When I called about a replacement, I got attitude and was told I had to drive back to the location I picked up the car (50 miles away) despite having a location near me. When I returned the car I forgot my medicine in the glove box, so I called within the hour and got the run around. Finally I was told to leave my number. After no call back, I called again and repeated the process, to no avail.
The replacement car I received had tires that ranged from 10-15 psi above specification. The windows all around were also so dirty I was unable to see through them well.
I continued to call Avis to retrieve my medication (prescription which had my name) and was unable to get through to the appropriate location. When I spoke with an associate from corporate they simply said "keep calling". I attempted to retrieve my medication one final time when I returned the car but was told they weren't sure where it went. I usually don't have ANY issues with my Avis rentals, however, this experience has been so awful & significantly interrupted my vacation and I am hesitant to continue to rent from the company in the future.

Third time they have charged me for fuel even when I leave the car full of gas. Talking to the people on the counter is no help. Customer service will fix the issue once you show proof( always take pictures or car before you pick it up and after you drop it off, including miles and gas tank levels) I also had to show proof of me purchasing the gas. Just annoying that this has become common practice for Avis of midland.

Do not rent from this place. Customer service is nonexistent there. I went up to their desk at the airport to rent a car a week in advance so I could get home to my kids and the lady at the counter didn't even touch her computer and told me they didn't have anything available without even asking any details from me. Once I told her that I didn't need the car that day, that I needed it a week from today, she STILL didn't even touch her computer and just told me they didn't have anything available. Their front desk ppl must have previous experience at the dmv or something bc she was absolutely worthless and didn't help at all. Now I'm stuck with no vehicle to get home to my kids with. People like her do not need to work in customer service. And these companies need to get rid of their automated phone services, nobody can get anything done w this online and automated nonsense. Get real, competent ppl to run your company. I'm sick and tired of these lazy, worthless, rude ppl getting paid to do absolutely nothing while the rest of the world is trying to get stuff done. Now I have to spend even more time trying to figure out transportation for my way home.

These scanners charged me almost $100 for picking up the car 29 minutes earlier than the pick up time and they did not let me know until I found the charge in my bank account. Avoid at all cost!!!

We had to rent a car when our flight was canceled to lubbock and rerouted to midland. The man at the desk wasn't very helpful in giving directions to pickup car. We were told C23 and to just push the keyfob to find car. We walked around in 100 degrees looking for it and pressing key fob. I called in and asked again where it was located. The man told me it was Cleary marked ABC and to keep pressing key for. I finally asked a kid that worked for hertz and he took me to the spot. The car was not in the number they told us and the key for horn didn't work. They really should provide a goldcart are similar. Then the windows were written on that they had hail damage, there was trash in back floorboard and the side mirrors were so dirty you couldn't see out of them
We had to stop and clean them. Glad I want be renting from them again.

No matter the time of day, the staff working are the slowest. It’s ridiculous how long it takes to get a rental here, nor do I understand the point of having multiple desks if only half of the operate at a time.

Made a reservation in advance, was told there were no cars when I arrived. Missed meetings as a result.

I’ve used Avis several times because it is company preferred. Cars are always smelly and glass is never clean. Had to wait over an hour past reservation to get car, what’s the point in a reservation? Avoid if you can.

Reservation for 10 am after two flights and 3:30 am wake up only to find NO VEHICLE and a minimum 45 minutes wait. Business trip with morning meetings missed. No big deal to agent who just slides a call this 800 reservation number if I have a problem or question. Unprofessional and unorganized location, won’t be using their services in the future. Roll the dice if you want.

They do a good job
BUT don’t expect them to be there after hours. Have to Uber or have someone pickup.

The Midland Airport Avis location tried to scam me and added on a fuel charge after I filled up the tank and returned the vehicle. Be aware and take before and after photos of the rental and the gas gauge when you drop the vehicle off and keep the receipt from when you fill up the rental.

The people at this location are lovely. Of the people I interacted with at the morning and evening shift 3/6, every single one was delightful and did their best to help. I travel frequently and this location has the best customer facing folks at any Avis location.The people running it need to do a better job of getting cars ready to go and cleaned.
