I'm spoiled, and happily so. I have done my best to direct all new business to First Financial Bank. I am sure all banks teach their employees how to be sociable, but this location by far has the best overall staff and the Drive-thru Customer Service and cash clerks are by far the best!

This incident occurred almost a year ago, but I am recently feeling up to sharing after taking some time to deal with the loss. My dad passed away last year and I did not have much help handling everything that needed to be taken care of after a family member passes. (Filing all of the necessary paperwork, closing accounts, etc.) I am in my late 20s and have never had to deal with something like this before.I knew that my dad had an account at this bank, and he had recently sold his house, so I knew that there would be some amount of money in his account. I went to the bank with all of the paperwork from the funeral home to show proof of anything that they needed, in order to talk to them about my dad's account and the circumstances. I assumed that I would show up, explain everything, and they would help guide me in the direction of what to do next. When I walked up to the first desk, I believe the woman's last name was Tuggle, I explained to her why I was there. Her immediate response was "Do you have the certificate of death?" I told her yes. She took it from me and said she would be right back. About 15 minutes later she returned and said that she filed the certificate in the system and handed back to me the original document. She then stated that she closed my dad's account and that no one would be able to access it. I was caught a little off guard by this so I wasn't quite sure what to say. I asked her if she knew what I could do to access the account or what my next step would be, she said she couldn't help me and that she had no idea what to do.I left that bank feeling awful. That woman treated me as if I was attempting to steal money. She couldn't even take the time to explain to me what she was doing and what would happen before she took the paperwork from me and locked/closed the account. And when I asked for her help she answered "I have no idea." For all I know, this woman could have taken my dad's money because she gave me no information as to what the process is. She seemed all too eager to file the paperwork and get me out of the door without being able to answer any of my questions.Every time I think about this incident, I start to feel nauseous, so I thought this review was necessary. This woman, Miss Tuggle, needs to be better trained on how to do her job and help the customers since she couldn't answer ANY of my questions. Or better yet, Miss Tuggle needs to go find a new job that's not customer-facing as she showed no empathy or willingness to help.

I apologize for being so tardy in rating this fine banking branch in Mineral Wells, Texas. I opened a checking account several years ago, when I thought my wife would agree to return to my native Texas to retire, but....sigh....no such luck. In three years, we will definitely have to relocate to Texas.....we will exhaust our money in the expensive " Golden State. " We definitely can survive in MW on my SSA and my wife's part time job there. I still recall how I was treated with superb customer service by the new accounts rep, as well as one of the banking officers, whose name I cannot recall, but who resembled the great Dallas Cowboy Bob Lilly from back in the seventies. I cannot wait to experience the renowned Lone Star friendliness once more.....

This location charges a fee to cash their own checks, a payroll check at that. The drive thru customer service is subpar and extremely slow.

This banks workers are fantastic, unfortunately the online banking is a joke overall. If you go in person to change your information, such as your phone number, it should automatically transfer over to online banking so clients can gain access. Adding in a form of verification where you enter a code from a text message, but not having the information update on the online portal you have as well is not an efficient process. Emailing support gets no response. Then calling they want you to email them confidential information. They need to upgrade their systems with this.
