We had recently moved from out of state and needed a check up on our animals, and the cat that “came” with the house needed checked out. They fit us in to their schedule. Our cat needed a procedure done that required an E collar. They called us after a few days to check up on her to see how she was doing. That showed us how much they care. She took so much time with Paisley girl, asking questions, loving on her, and carefully explaining all of our options. It never once felt rushed. Edit after having to go back for more test, and refilling medication *** Front desk needs a bit of training on customer service and your tone!! Also the 24 hour rule for refill on medication when I wasn’t aware of that, asked for just this one time. I will be using a third party for her medication to avoid having to call. I loved this place so much and the front desk has ruined it for me.”

My dog has a long history of extreme anxiety at the vet — to the point where some vets have refused to examine him because he becomes aggressive when he’s scared. For years, I’ve relied on Dr. Peña, who was the only vet with the patience and skill to handle him. I used to wait until Fridays just to see him at our old clinic, but when that location closed and Dr. Peña moved to VCA Kingwood, I followed him because he’s the only one I truly trusted.

Today, my dog’s face was swollen, and I panicked — it wasn’t Friday, and I knew Dr. Peña wasn’t working. But when I called, Kaitlyn was incredibly helpful and told me to bring my dog in as a same-day standby. I was nervous because I had only given my dog one round of his pre-appointment meds (he usually needs three), and I wasn’t sure how he’d react.

To my surprise, we were met with the kindest team. Taylor, the vet tech, and Dr. Burlone handled him with so much love, calm, and encouragement that my dog remained relaxed throughout the entire visit. I left the appointment so proud of him and so thankful for the staff. They truly treated him with compassion and patience, and it made a world of difference.

“Doc took care of our kitty. I was pretty sure there was some sort of major issue, when it looked like she had completely lost the use of her back legs. I feared the worst and was afraid she would have to be put down. I had not used this vet before but he was the only one that could see us on short notice. He could have ordered bloodwork and some other things, but he explained why that would be a waste of money, and he felt it was a back sprain. I've woken up with some serious back pain before, and after looking at that as an option, I could certainly see why she would be moving the way she was. An antibiotic and a steroid, and within a day she was doing great, two days and she was her old self. I need some of those steroids for MY back!”

“When I tell you I will never take Georgie anywhere else, I 100% mean it. The staff is so incredibly friendly, from the front desk (Lacy), to the vet techs, to Dr. Rodriguez (who is also the medical director). They text to check on Georgie after every visit/vaccine. They answer the phone every time and answer any questions I have. They also have a care club plan that includes all my pups vaccinations, unlimited check ups, fecal testing, and gives me a discount for everything that's not included on this plan. Dr. Rodriguez takes the time to not only assess Georgie, but she lets him sniff everything before she uses it on him (stethoscope, otoscope, etc). She takes her time explaining everything without using medical jargon, she's personable, and you can tell she genuinely cares for every single animal that comes into that office for care. Georgie is a 5lb cavapoo, and my parent's take Rocco (115lb GSD). They both have completely different temperaments but both receive astounding and quality care with Dr. Rodriguez and her staff! Thank you VCA KINGWOOD for helping me keep my Georgie healthy, happy, and sweet.”
