“I needed to host an event for a client and decided to use Choice Meats. We purchased a group package consisting of brisket, sausage, potato salad, in-house BBQ sauce, and baked beans for 14 - 21 people. To that order, we added to whole BBQ'ed chickens, a gallon of banana pudding, and a side of jalapenos / onions / pickles. Together it came up to roughly $217. We placed the order a few days before the actual pickup date. On the day of the pickup, we went by early to verify what we purchased and it looked like everything was still being assembled. We then returned on the prior agreed time and everything was ready to go.

The client was very happy with what we provided. Brisket was great, the sausage was good, but the chicken was a bit dry and somewhat stringy (loss of 1 star) but if I hadn't added it to the original package, this would've been a five star review easily. Going forward, we probably won't add that particular item or substitute it for something else they have available.

I picked Choice Meats because the last time I was here, it was the early 90s and I was 12 or 13. Us stopping in to check things out was based on that prior experience. I had not really been back to this area in decades and much has changed but Choice has remained a fixture over that time albeit with a change of ownership in the past few years. I do plan on using them in the future for larger events. But they also offer sandwiches and other menu items for individuals which I highly suggest checking out if you want to sample what they have.

p.s. banana pudding was great. first time i've ever had that kind of pudding.”

“I personally haven't gone there for much and not to often I'm sure that I'd have rated it 5 stars with continuous visits as the service and products are good and the meat looks very good and I definitely plan on buying some from there sometime.”

“Love the food here. Very authentic and delicious, although I recommend going earlier in the day. I have been going here for years and have never had a racist experience in the least. You have to go up to the counter and speak up, that's all. They don't ask you they just wait for you to say something. I don't speak spanish and I don't look in the least bit Mexican/Latin origin and have never suffered quality of service or food because of it. Just point to what you want. The most complicated question I get is flour or corn tortillas in spanish, and I just respond in english, no big deal. The menudo here is the bomb.”

“I have always received good service at this store. The meat quality could be a little better. I had really bad service if not racist a racist at the near by Deer Park Carniceria. I have always had friendly service at this store and will buy my meat from La Michoacana Meat Market over the Deer Park Carniceria.”
