Disappointing and frustrating experience.
I bought 4 Bridgestone tires last year, which comes with 80k miles warranty. I’ve been keeping rotation and balancing on track according to their guidance. However, it’s only 40k miles as of now. Two tires are already worn out. I went to the East Plano Costco to claim the warranty yesterday. After about an hour of waiting in line, the technician told me it’s not eligible because the “tread depth is not even”. It was the first time I was told such thing and I don’t understand how that could have happened. I’ve been doing every maintenance as they recommended. I’ve been an Executive member of Costco since 2015 and spend thousands of dollars every year there. It’s such a disappointing experience!!! I will avoid buying tires from them in the future.

I’ve taken two of my cars recently to the Costco Tire Center at East Plano, and both experiences were disappointing.
While their prices are decent for new tires, the rest of the service is poor. Wait times are long, and the staff seems rushed and inattentive.
More concerning is how they handle the vehicles. After one visit, the power seat controls in my car stopped working — they were fine before. On another visit, they jammed my glove box and carelessly tossed the wheel lock key inside instead of putting it back properly.
I also brought in a flat tire and was charged $10.99 for a repair. They later said it couldn’t be fixed due to sealant use and recommended replacing 2 or even 4 tires. That didn’t sit right with me, so I went to a nearby Discount Tire. They cleaned the sealant, carefully inspected the tire and rim, and repaired it for free — no pressure, no upsell.
Costco may be great for many things, but the East Plano tire center lacks accountability, attention to detail, and honest service. I won’t be returning.

The wait is way too long. Got a call saying my car is ready to be picked up, but I still need to wait for another 20 minutes at the front desk.

i hope tires last as long as the wait to get them done. ordering tires at the store takes a long time. then went ahead and got an appointment to get them installed at a later date. on the appointment date i came to the store and had to wait an hour after i had the appointment scheduled. what a waste of time. they need to improve the process.. we have an appointment that means i at least expect to get taken care of in +- 15 mins, it took an hour to wait in the line to get to the counter

Just a note the counter is inside between the member services counter and foot court. Was in and out in about an hour having 2 new tires put on as well as balanced and rotated. They also found a nail in one that was being rotated and fixed free of charge. Counter was very friendly and helpful. Only grip would be that once you are at the counter each customer does take them some time to deal with so you will be standing there for a bit so i recommend having an appointment so once they get to you they can get your car in right away. An hour was great though as it was plenty of time to also get some grocery shopping done as well as check out the Christmas stuff they have out already.

This experience highlights a major issue with the tire center. I got a flat tire and tried to make an appointment, but the earliest available slot was 1-2 weeks out. I was the first in line for a walk-in, yet I was told that appointments receive faster service. The wait time was estimated to be 2-3 hours. How could I possibly know I’d get a nail in my tire 1-2 weeks in advance?
The tire center needs to revise their policy to prioritize customers with flat tire warranties over routine rotations and appointments. Due to this frustrating experience, I will no longer be using their services. While I understand they have many customers, losing my business might not impact them, but I am now considering switching to Sam’s Club. The time spent here was unacceptable.

Everyone in the tire center is very professional. I never see them playing around or wasting time. They are always booked so you should get an appointment a few days before going

The tire center customer service is very good. Staff are polite and patient. I got my tires from Costco. Found a nail in the tire on Sunday and they helped to check and decided it not repairable (nail angle is 25 degree). Edward helped to fill the warranty paperwork and ordered a new tire. Walked in in the second day and got the tire installed. Smooth process and they took care of customers well. A huge applause for Edward. Be aware, they are super busy and short of staff, so if you decided to walk in, prepare to stand in the line for a while.

Ordered pizza this time around. It looks like someone ate from it already.... was not pleasing to the eyes and was hesitant whether I should have eaten this pizza.

Very long wait with no waiting area (3 hrs for me). The only available place to sit is the food court, which is always extremely busy. I wouldn’t use their service again.

Customer service recently has dropped significantly. It used to be a pleasant time shopping here but yesterday I was there and right at the entrance the staff there was very unfriendly and glared at me. The next staff made a curt and rude remark when I was looking at men's shirts. The other 2 interactions at the check out and exit was pleasant. Costco team members used to be very nice and professional. Either they have hired people who think retail is beneath them or there is an issue with the management at the location.

I got a flat and needed a new tire ASAP. The staff was so nice, explained all my options, and made sure I could make an informed decision. This took a terrible situation and made it as good as possible. I'm a customer for life. I really feel cared about.

My appointment was on Saturday, February 10, 2024. It was for tire rotation and balancing. While I was on the way to costco, I got a nail on my tire. The service advisor told me that the tire can't be repaired and I have voided my warranty as I haven't rotated tire for last 15k miles according to their records. I said that I did rotation during oil change as that was free with oil change. He told me that you need to bring that document to prove it. I said I don't have document and wanted to talk with his manager. He agreed.Few minutes back another person came and explained me the same warranty voided reason and said that manager has a lot to do and will not manage time to talk to me.So, I had to return back with donut tire on my car without having any warranty of my tire.Costco, is a really renowned store and this type of behavior or incident isn't really goes with Costco. If Costco corporate isn't corrupted, they should have investigate this matter and take appropriate action. They can find all details from their appointment as I have mentioned in the first line.
