FANTASTIC experience! Mr. Otis was extremely kind, patient, and very accommodating to all our requests throughout the process of purchasing our Model B. We visited the showroom outside of store hours multiple times due to our schedule and he was very accommodating of that request. He was available to answer questions at any hour. He was present and thorough and actively engaged with us when we needed him and also took a step back and allowed us to experience the pianos at leisure. We were so delighted with our experience and couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Buying a Steinway is a large expense. Steinway's after sale service department reminds you why the expense is warranted. We have Spirio that has had a connection issue, both the sale (Otis) and the service (Nowell) have been fantastic. As in, "here is my cell, call me anytime" fantastic. We love our piano, and the team in Plano is to be congratulated on a creating a life long customer.

I bought a Boston piano a few years ago and it kept having major quality issues. The company in Dallas has fixed a few but not all. The company has refused to fix the remaining defect and claimed that it’s an “environmental” issue that my home caused.I have hesitated to write this review in the last couple years because I had the tiny hope that someone may care enough to finally fix my piano. I know the last item is the priciest and would cost about $1000 to fix.I bought this piano for the sole purpose of upgrading to a Steinway within ten years of initial purchase. Now that I’m close to the ten year mark, I will spend my money elsewhere because I’m afraid the company will repeat the lack of warranty support for a Steinway piano.Please see my photo for proof of the AWEFUL DEFECT. The screenshot is the inspection report from a third party piano inspector.Ask any piano technician and they will tell you the picture does not reflect the Steinway quality. I had multiple different piano tuners who told me the same thing - Steinway should fix it under warranty for free. But people at the Dallas location AND the New York corporate office do NOT care about the customer experience. The NY office will not call you back. It took me more than a week to be connected to the NY phone number only to be told the Dallas office has the final say.Just be careful with your money. You can spend it anywhere and buy something with better quality. There are so many options to buying a piano, especially if u have five digit of $$$ to spend.

Given a chance to play the best piano I've ever played, and maybe will ever play. Was allowed to be there for over an hour, getting tips and coaching on my playing, all free of charge. Was also led in a new direction with the recommendations and counseling of the staff member there.

I’ve dreamed of having my own Steinway since I was a young student … my teacher had not one, but two Steinways, and it was always a special treat when we had our lesson on one of the Steinways instead of her smaller studio upright piano. Forty plus years later, I’m so happy to upgrade to my beautiful Steinway B piano. My husband and I visited both Steinway Hall locations in the Dallas Metroplex and found our piano at the Plano location. Otis was beyond helpful - very patient and so knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and facilitating the move out of our previous grand piano and the arrival of our beautiful Steinway B. The service department has been excellent as well, tuning and voicing the piano perfectly. I highly recommend Steinway Hall for anyone looking to learn more about these beautiful instruments!

I'm very disappointed at the Steinway brand, especially the warranty department. I purchased a brand new Boston piano from this Plano store a few years ago and 100% regret doing so. Three different tuning technicians (who are NOT employed by Steinway) told me that my brand new piano needs significant repair that should be covered under warranty. The potential "repair" is due to manufacturing defect that the seller intentionally concealed during my purchase. When I contacted the warranty team, all the reply I received is "no we do not repair this because it's a cosmetic issue" and blamed me for causing "environmental" damage to the piano. Mind you I am not stupid, the warranty team knows very well that a repair this magnitude will cost an arm and leg ($105/hour rate in 2018, the estimated hours needed is 8 hours). So they basically do not stand behind their own product. I also attempted to contact the New York headquarter. After waiting for more than a week with no one returning my call, I finally called again and a guy in British accent basically told me I'm foolish in even thinking the repair should be covered. I NEVER received a formal response from the customer service email
[email protected]. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service! The people working in the DFW location just want to take your money and run. I could not reach anyone in the warranty department on the phone. Otis (the sales rep mentioned in another review) will stop replying your email after you hand over the money. P.S I have proof of everything above, including email correspondence and pictures. I will post them if the company still refuse to repair my piano as of 2022. I'm still within the 10-year warranty period. Feel free to message me for proof.

We had a wonderful experience buying our first baby grand! Otis was very knowledgeable and explained all the qualities of the Boston, step by step. After comparing with other brands, we decided to buy a used Boston! It was the best decision, and its warm rich sounds will fill our home for many years to come. Thank you, Steinway!! Highly recommend this store/location!
