  Complaints about the metal hanger slipping on the glass are warrantable. I found that silicon adhesive (glue) applied between the metal and glass solves the problem. Clean the two surfaces, apply adhesive liberally and allow 48 hours to cure. I also give a healthy tug on the hanger prior to each cleaning/refilling occurrence... read full comment

  Yes i have had bands slip too and yes i have had the plastic red perch break. I put electricians tape around the top above the band. I am always in a hurry and dont let the nectar cool before putting in the bottle. The tape allows for some expansion and contract. No solution for broken perch.

  I too have had the metal bands fail, leading to smashed glass everywhere. I am disappointed, as I love the ease of cleaning these feeders, but I am giving up after failure #3.
