“I'm a grandparent with grandchildren who attended the school. I have no idea who is on the school board and personally don't know any of the teachers. Before you make an EMOTIONAL judgement on what happened to the school you need to know all of the facts. Two facts both sides will agree to. Fact one, the issues between the school and it's teachers started last year. Seems to me both parties had time to work out the issues. Fact two, the teachers were not fired they all RESIGNED at the same time! I'm not going to state my opinion on why they all quit, because it doesn't matter now. The fact cannot not be rebutted. The teachers quit. This caught the pastor and school board by surprise since it was sudden. The school board had the budget to continue the school for several years. Future plans, according to the school board was to add more grades. When the teachers quit, the school board had no choice but to close the school since there wasn't enough time to find new faculty and teachers. Apparently, they did their best to get the word out as soon as possible in order to let parents know. It's sad to see both sides upset and crying about the situation. The children AND parents suffered the most, but the teachers apparently didn't think about that when they turned in their resignation letters.”

“Quan Am is a cast concrete statue in Chùa Việt Nam, Vietnamese Buddhist Center in Sugar Land,Houston, Texas . The sculpture depicts the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara in female form standing on a lotus pedestal. She may also be commonly known by her Chinese name Guanyin. It was created by sculptor Mai Chi Kim, who wanted to work on a bigger project after the temple had commissioned several smaller statues from her. With the base included, the statue stands at 72 feet tall, making it one of the tallest statues in the United States, and looks over a large pond beside an ornate red bridge. It held the claim to being the largest Buddhist statue in the Western Hemisphere, until 2021 when Brazil completed construction of the second tallest Buddha statue in the world. It is the sixth tallest statue in the United States as of 2021.
Quan Am is one of the most highly revered bodhisattvas in Vietnam and is called by many epithets, including 'Mother of Buddhas' and 'Goddess of Compassion'.”

“This is a great community church! The diversity represents Sugar Land excellently! Pastor John preaches the gospel as though he’s speaking directly to you! Everyone at Oak Lake Baptist is so friendly and welcoming and there’s so many opportunities to be a part of the community of Oak Lake Baptist. We have been going for about a month and a half and I will be joining next week. It was really important to me to find a church, where Jesus is in the building and He is definitely in the building at Oak Lake Baptist church !”

“Grew up attending this parish and am now bringing my family here any time we are in the area. I am genuinely impressed at the degree of investment in both the physical and spiritual sides of what's happening here, especially over the past few years. The remodel was amazing and it's great to have an altar rail at the entrance to the sanctuary. Also appreciate the staff in the office any time I've had to have documents or anything else sent to my current parish.”
