“Great staff, polite and friendly, and the facility is very clean. Our two dogs were seen quickly and taken care of. One has heart worms and the other has had a cough for quite some times. They gave us options for treatment, supported our choice without trying to sway us one way or another, and took care of our pets! Will be going back to them annually and as needed.”

“Really kind people. It’s always so stressful having a pet in an emergency situation. Our toy poodle was attacked and the vet was super careful and communicated each decision. It’s always pricey, it’s always after hours and it’s never really a positive experience but a polite and honest professional really helps. So grateful!”

“Dr. Judd is absolutely amazing. He and his staff are all wonderful, Syssi was extremely helpful as well. Dr. Judd helped remedy my furbaby's emergency issue that was done at a different clinic. Everyone here seems honest, genuine, and passionate. Boone and I will definitely come back for everything moving forward!”

“They have always been a caring staff and vet clinic for our dog and cat since moving to Waco 2 years ago. They have a small town feel. We recently had to euthanize our dog and Dr. Ainsworth explained the process and options with compassion, caring, and no judgement. The vet techs were right there with me offering sympathy and comfort as needed. I am very pleased with their service and care during this difficult time. ♥️”

“I just moved to Waco about 7 months ago. I happened to check around and decided to go to Barkley Vetinary for my cat Mysti. Great choice. Affordable and Dr Pippin is one of the best DVM.”

“My dog, Rufus, was torn up by a pit bull. Dr. Folsom, and Melody worked tirelessly into the evening, and miraculously patched my dog up from all of his deep wounds (After already having a full day). While my dog was in recovery, Dr. Folsom showed me photos of his wound stitching and tubes, and explained how to care for them, and what concerns she had. Terri, vet techs, and office staff were very caring, and supportive. All medications, and home care were thoroughly explained before we left.
Absolutely recommend!!”

“My dog was sick at 330am on a Sunday, we were in and out within an hour, the staff was thorough and provided immediate service. The cost was reasonable, and all the things that needed to happen were done immediately! Thank you for helping my fur baby! I appreciate you!”

“Dr. Poston was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Not only did she answer every question I had about my pup, but she explained the why and how behind it as well. Jasmine was super sweet and personable, you can tell she truly loves animals. The team at the desk took the time to stop what they were doing to make eye connection and explain the best way to set up the next appointment to ensure they answered all my questions. Amazing staff, comfortable atmosphere not only for the people but for the animals too, smooth and stress free appointment. (It was my dogs 1st time around people, animals, and new places since I got her and all went perfect). Thank you to everyone there!”

“Great affordable community clinic! Have used the puppy and kitten package for both my pets! The staff are wonderful people who love animals! The only down side is the how far out you have to make an appointment, but this vet clinic shouldn't really be the one you go to for an emergency anyway! Overall would suggest them to anyone for basic care!”

“My family has taken our furbabies to
Northside since 1992--well, my parents are still clients, but I moved out of town in 2022. It had occurred to me to leave this review now because last Tuesday, I lost my elderly tortie cat, Sally, to kidney disease, and Dr. Cox treated her for hyperthyroidism while I still lived in Waco. If you need a vet who deals with animals and their owners alike with compassion and empathy, Dr. Cox is your man.

About 10 years ago, Dr. Cox made a house call (though I don't think Northside does those anymore) to euthanize our 21-year-old kitty, Sox, who also had kidney disease. Dr. Cox was so very kind and gentle with our old guy. He injected the sedative and then asked if there was a spot in the house where Sox loved to nap. So we moved our baby to his spot by the fireplace, and we sat and stroked him and talked to him as the sedative took effect. I still remember Dr. Cox saying something to the effect that he liked to imagine a cat on drugs would envision themselves bounding through fields of catnip and chasing after squirrels. We laughed through our tears, and we knew that we had given Sox the best life possible and a peaceful end.

Thank you for caring, Dr. Cox.”

“I love these guys! My cat? Maybe slightly less so, but that’s because he has to grudgingly admit that going to the vet does actually make him feel better.
The doctors are personable, knowledgeable and friendly, the vet techs are great and patient, and really work to make sure both humans and pets are comfortable. We’ve been able to get appointments quickly as needed.
They also are very transparent with pricing and working with you to make sure you get exactly what your pet needs but not more.”

“I’ll be honest — I had issues with this clinic years ago, and I was very vocal about it. If you’re from the Waco area, there’s a good chance you’ve heard about it. Because of that, I spent years trying to find a vet clinic that truly felt right for me and my dogs… and after a long search, I decided to give Coltonwood another try after hearing they had new staff and new procedures in place.

I’m really glad I did.

Dr. Cooksey is absolutely amazing. I genuinely love her. She listens to my concerns, takes her time, and always gives me her honest, thoughtful opinion. I never feel rushed, brushed off, or dismissed. That alone is huge.

The staff at the Loop location is also fantastic. Chance and Alexandra at the front desk are always kind, helpful, and on top of everything, and Heather, the vet tech, is a total star. They’re efficient, friendly, and make every visit smooth and stress-free. We’re always in and out without feeling hurried, which is the perfect balance.

Are they pricey? Well… aren’t they all? ? But the level of care, professionalism, and peace of mind I get here makes it worth it.

If you had a past experience like mine and have been hesitant to return, I can honestly say — give them another chance. The difference is real, and I’m grateful I did.”
