This isn’t my primary YMCA; however, it’s a pretty modern facility and has a lot of great equipment. That said, during my visit today, I was disappointed and grossed out to see several band-aids in the pool between the two laps I swam in.

Yikes. I cannot in good faith rate this location higher than 1 star.
1.) Wow. This location gets EXTREMELY crowded. Like “people waiting to enter and exit the building” busy. The majority of the members are RUDE and unfriendly as well. Just standing there in groups talking not moving when you, A.) say “excuse me” and B.) not even moving when they see you coming. Not sure what happened to RR but it’s sadly gone down hill. I digress.
2.) The whole place feels super squished now. I admit we haven’t been here in a long time but wow. It’s modern, sure, but at what cost?
3.) The pool area…ohhh the pool area. “Grungy” is one word for it. “Run-down” is another adjective I’d use. The pool is disgusting. Algae, rust, missing pieces of cement, chewed up pool noodles, and because the outdoor area is being redone, they keep the “garage” doors closed. It felt stifling in there and it was extremely loud. Which brings me to my next point…
4.) The classes and schools practicing here are taking priority over casual pool users. There are zero opportunities between the hours of 4:30 PM and closing for a peaceful swim. Also the one tall man/woman instructing their swimmers tonight (Wednesday) was very inconsiderate to other YMCA members who were trying to walk by her/him and their swimmers. Not even getting out of the way or apologizing for taking over the entire walkway. Ya know, the one we ALL pay for to use. The swimmers were also inconsiderate and lacked manners. If you see a mom and her baby walking by trying to get through, you MOVE when she says, “Excuse me” instead of making her almost fall in the pool and making her bump into people with her child on her hip.
My overall opinions are that the YMCA staff need to do a better job of keeping the walking areas clear and keep members moving out of the way. They also need to focus on cleaning the pools better. And to any YMCA members reading this, be kind and use your manners.

I experienced mediocre service for about 2 years, but I recently had a technician lie to me on 2 separate occasions regarding service and a maintenance issue. I wouldn’t comment except that, despite repeated efforts to involve management, I did not receive any attention or leadership emphasis. I have other, cheaper alternatives for this level of service.

Our kids recently attended the YMCA 1/2 day specialty Gymnastics camp and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and welcoming. However, we did find that the program itself could benefit from some enhancements. While the camp advertises four hours of gymnastics, our children were only actively engaged in gymnastics activities for about two of those hours. The remaining time was spent sitting and eating snacks, with the first hour primarily devoted to waiting for all students to arrive. I emailed the director with these suggestions and sincerely hope that the feedback is considered for future program planning.
Unfortunately, our kids were not as excited about attending the camp as we had hoped. I would recommend considering a revamp of the program to keep the children more actively engaged throughout the entire camp session. If you’re thinking about enrolling your child, I’d strongly suggest dropping in to observe a session beforehand to ensure it aligns with your expectations.
On a positive note, the full-day camp experience was wonderful. The staff kept the kids busy and engaged, and they always had smiles on their faces at both drop-off and pick-up. We truly appreciated the energy and enthusiasm they brought each day!

We mostly used the pool and usually took my kid there.
It was so dirty that algae had formed on the surface, and the water was always horribly filthy. The last time it was so dirty that we turned around and didn't go into the pool. I absolutely do not recommend going to the YMCA, especially this branch.

The facilities are nice but it has some really large problems. The extra activities for kids are really poorly run. My kids have disliked every one. The website is the worst I have ever seen. Impossible to navigate. I wind up going in to sign up for stuff in person.
It's a shame because the nice parts of the club are ruined by these things. Instead of fixing the problems they are building a new outdoor pool that no one needs

We went to the pool with kids. It was fun, but crowded with all the summer camp kids there. The lazy river area is a hit. Water not super warm but not cold either, and they leave big garage doors open (in July, at least) so it's hot in there and the water feels good. My 6 month old did not complain about water temperature. And I didn't feel like I had to "get used to it" so not that cold. They didn't have infant life jackets but they do have kids ones. As of July 2024.

After being a Chasco member for a little over a year, I'll have to update my original rating from 5 stars to 3... The facility is Amazing! The fact that you can workout and have child watch is very helpful. I've previously had YMCA memberships in Maryland & Georgia and I have to say some of the staff here should be up for review.. With this being a "Family Friendly," Program I hold the staff up to very high standard. I don't know if this comes with my many years of being a store manager, nonetheless the Customer Service needs to be MUCH better. I can say the inappropriate encounters I've endured were not from the Chasco YMCA staff but the ones that fill in or visit from the Hutto location. I feel that If you're not a "People Person" this job does not suit you, especially working the front counter. Everyday I expect to see nothing less than warm welcoming smiles and POSITIVE interaction with the members appropriately, relax a little this is not the Chasco YMCA Department of Corrections...
