About Fuerza Unida
Fuerza Unida is a dedicated organization focused on empowering minority workers, especially women of color, and their families. Its mission is to promote social, economic, and environmental justice through education, organizing, and advocacy. The organization addresses issues faced by garment workers during economic crises caused by plant closings and layoffs. It works to advance the rights of women, immigrants, low-income workers, and communities of color by providing education, training, and accessible information to help protect their rights. Community members appreciate the caring volunteers and the supportive environment, which also features cultural items and events that celebrate community and family.
