The Outpost is a premier student housing complex in San Marcos, TX, located on Post Road near Bobcat Stadium for Texas State University. It is close to campus and is the first stop on the university shuttle service Post Road route, which is very convenient. The complex offers furnished apartments with two, three, and four bedrooms. Amenities include a pool and hot tub, barbeque pits, a sand volleyball court, a basketball court, a 24-hour fitness center, and a 24-hour business center, as well as a gym, study room, and computer lab. Residents describe it as a wonderful, friendly place that feels like home. The staff and management team are noted as being nice, helpful, sweet, understanding, and amazing. The maintenance team is also praised for being quick and responsive to requests. The complex is generally considered very quiet, peaceful, and safe. Some residents mention ongoing renovations and construction, noting the improvements are appreciated but the timeline can be disruptive. A few note minor inconveniences with office hours and package delivery. Overall, however, it is a highly recommended place to stay, with many residents choosing to resign their leases.
I’ve lived here for 3 years and have never been disappointed by the office staff’s service. Huge shoutout to Emma, who is always so friendly, makes genuine conversation, and somehow always manages to track down missing packages. She truly goes above and beyond for residents!

I have been a resident of the Outpost for the past two years and loved it!
The only reason I'm moving out is to attend graduate school at UC Berkeley. If not, I would stay at The Outpost as long as possible since management (Jerry), office workers, and maintenance crew are amazing!

I really love living here, as an international student I feel supported by the staff who are so kind and sweet and quick to listen and act.
