You will NOT regret your decision to stay with Aunt M! Kick back and leave the buzz of your daily life behind. The entire house is painted with scenes by Aunt M herself, wonderful artistry. And oh my gosh, the beds are so comfortable. It was so nice to be in such a well taken care of historical era home. Her homemade breakfast was amazing (please don't skip on the breakfast, you will not be let down) and the dining room was spectacular. This is a great place to forget about life for a while. Go get lost in San Saba for the weekend, you won't regret it!

Magical, really! It was all painted by the Owner/Host. She is a truly amazing woman with mad skills! In a good way! Also an excellent cook. There is no place in Texas like ot! It is truly one of a kind, with ambiance, tranquility, and a touch of home.Rooms: Each room is themed about the San Saba Town. The artwork and decor are fabulous. I highly recommend that you stay once! Then you're hooked, and you'll never settle for less again.Nearby activities: Pecan Grill is trendy and fun. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby. Just make sure you eat breakfast with May! Delicious!!Also, you have the WeddingOak Winery. Fun atmosphere and a wonderful choice of wine's. While you're at it, stop by The San Saba Olive Oil Co. Take something home with you that is worth its weight in gold!Walkability: Close walking to the historical downtown square. Check for dates on the Farmers Market days for local grown and crafted goodies!

San Saba is special and Aunt M's is the best. I don't really have any words to really capture the vibe of her place because it's so unique and special. There are so many details in each nook and cranny and piece of furniture, for example, as we came inside the house, there was a bookcase to our right hand side with rare old art books that we can just grab and peruse and many paintings on the walls and staircase. Auntie is extremely hospitable... She even left a whole case of snacks in the room! My wife and I regret not getting breakfast as we wanted to explore the eateries around town, but in the morning, the smell of the country breakfast that she was making for the other guests came into the hallway and it was mouth watering. We will definitely be back and we will definitely try to have our friends and family stay here to whenever they pass through. Thank you Aunt Mae

My girlfriend and I stayed at Aunt M's in the Bluebonnet Suite. It was picturesque. Absolutely beautiful room and bathroom with a massive above ground bathtub. It is also about 2 minutes from the square which has great stores and restaurants. I would highly suggest giving her a call if you need somewhere to stay in San Saba.

Was trying to be honest about my complaint I am not the only one with issues with dust etc!!! Was just trying to warn people about the dust mites and overall stuffiness of the room I stayed in would have loved to be able to open a window for great air!! But not possible! Take the complaint as a suggestion for better air quality control!!

My wife and I spent our 35th wedding anniversary here. We had a restful night's rest to wake up to a full hot breakfast that included bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs, juice, milk, coffee, tea, and a breakfast casserole. This breakfast casserole consisted of biscuits, sausage with gravy, eggs, all topped with shredded cheese. If you do not get enough to eat here you definitely not trying too hard. We ate until we were stuffed. Between the great artwork throughout and the friendly owner that makes you feel at home, this is an ideal place to stay. If fact we love staying here so much, we have stayed in every suite. It is very interesting how each suite has its own theme. If you are looking for an unique friendly place to stay, my wife and I would highly recommend this inn.

Absolutely 5 stars!!!! I would go back to San Saba just to stay here! Just love this place!!!Well done, artsy, great decor, the bed is huge and super comfy, the claw foot bathtub's a treat...if it had rained and couldn't go anywhere, we would have been fine just staying at Aunt M's. You can tell an artist created this place. Full of whimsy and soul.Sitting in the yard is so peaceful. So nice to stroll and check out the flowers.Oh, and the breakfast...excellent! Creative touches, delicious and plenty of it. Can't imagine not getting the breakfast.Aunty M is such a gracious, personable host...friendly and easy to chat with, helpful and accommodating. Great to talk to the artist who created it.This BnB suited me to a T. It's my gold standard for BnB's from now on. Love this place!!!

This place is delightful. It's obviously created by someone who takes hospitality and charm to heart. The rooms are not just comfortable they're cozy. Every thoughtful thing is done. There's a kettle for tea or coffe. There's little gifts. The art is gentle and comforting. We sat on the upstairs balcony enjoying our evening. Thoughts drifting to the stars. We decided not to have the breakfast. Something I regret. As we were chatting to the lady at Wedding Tree winery, she heard we were staying at Aunt M's and said oh you must have really enjoyed the breakfast, everyone does. I intend to return and enjoy the breakfast. This is a people friendly place and a true destination, in what is a lovely area of the country.

Me and my husband stayed and it was amazing. The place has a magic of its own. I felt the comfort of going to grannies. Each area had its own personality. The paintings and décor was mesmerizing. The owner was super hospitable and willing to do anything you needed. Sitting on the porch really kind of made the crazy world we live in go away for a moment. Breakfast was way more than 5 stars there was plenty and a variety. It was DELICIOUS!! We will be staying here everytime we are in San Saba. Thank you so much for having us!

Aunt M's breakfast alone is worth the trip to San Saba-- it's delicious! Not to mention the exquisite art work on the walls and the beautiful screened-in porch on the second floor. Every room has an ice bucket, a coffee maker, and beautiful furnishing. Beds were comfortable and water pressure was great! (I wasn't expecting that in an old house!) We went there for a family reunion and everyone had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back. Pecan Steakhouse is a real treat as well, as is Colorado Bend State Park,.
