“Lifesaver in the Middle of Nowhere!

I had a scary flat tire experience on I-10 West in Texas, about ~65 miles east of El Paso. My dashboard suddenly lit up with a low tire pressure warning—one tire had dropped to 23 PSI. I’d just passed a gas station a couple of miles back, and Google Maps showed the next one was 17 miles ahead. No choice but to keep going carefully.
As I drove, the pressure kept dropping: 22 PSI, then 19 PSI, and by the time I was 5 miles out, it was down to 10 PSI. I was panicking and sped up to reach the exit safely. I pulled into the Traveling Tiger Center (or “Tiger” gas station/truck stop) right there at the exit—it’s truly in the middle of nowhere, with just a store and restaurant nearby.
I called my roadside assistance, and they arranged a tow from El Paso that would take about 1.5 hours. While waiting, the tow company called for better location details, but I was struggling with the connection. A kind employee at the station stepped in to help translate and communicate in Spanish.
What I didn’t realize at first is that they have their own tire/mechanical shop right there—it’s not obvious from the outside; it’s integrated as part of the store/gas station setup. I canceled the expensive tow (which would’ve cost $250–$300 plus lost time). Tiger quickly pulled the tire, found a razor blade embedded in it, patched it from the inside professionally, and had me back on the road in no time.
The team was incredibly friendly, helpful, and reassuring—especially since I felt a bit vulnerable being so isolated. They turned a stressful, potentially disastrous situation into a quick and affordable fix for just $28!
If you’re driving this stretch of I-10, keep Traveling Tiger Center in mind for any roadside issues. They truly made my day and saved me a ton of hassle and money. Highly recommend—great service in the middle of the desert!
Thank you so much! ?”

“So 4 stars for gas prices, as they are 20 to 30 cents cheaper than other stations between van horn & El Paso, but the 3 stars are for restrooms are not clean. This is a small station, with hometown little eatery, the vaquero grill, do not confuse this with a lives travel stop. It also is a Valero station & not an Exxon as it shows on Google maps. We will stop here each time to save on gas. This is not a truck stop.”

“It's a small cramped place to get gas. The store is clean and stocked. I didn't use the restroom, so I have no idea what they were like. The have some good pizza there and friendly staff. It's a quick stop off of I-10.”
