Pace Bend Park is a popular and iconic area on Lake Travis, featuring more than nine miles of shoreline with high limestone cliffs and rocky coves offering impressive views, especially at sunset. It is a very open, large park providing a wide range of recreational opportunities. Visitors enjoy great swimming, cliff jumping, fishing, kayaking, and hiking trails throughout the hills with excellent views. The interior is a wildlife preserve, home to a diversity of wildlife, accessible by foot, bicycle, or horseback. It is a wonderful park for camping and family fun, with newly improved campsites. The staff is patient and helpful. The park is great for day visits, though it can get too crazy and packed on major holidays. While some campsites remain closed, it remains a beloved destination with majestic views and sounds of owls and coyotes. There is a five-dollar entry fee per vehicle. Visitors are encouraged to be careful of their surroundings and to clean up their trash.
