Great open spaces and good location on the lake. Good trails for biking or hiking.

Pretty good. Little bit cold at night, I wish they would turn up the heat.

We have camped here severall times in the improved camping area. The usual online reservation process was offline so we had to make our reservation via an email request. I was told over the phone that it aspirated that there were only 2 spots available for the weekend. This was Tuesday before arrival. I got a quick response and given a spot. No deposit is taken and they require cash payment at the gate. We arrived to find out that the dump stain was closed but they could recommend place down the street to dump for 20 bucks. I was told it should have been in the email, but it wasn't. No problem. Saturday morning, we woke to find that out of approx 15 spots, there was only a few in use. Saturday night was only us plus 2 other campers. We took our dogs for a walk and not once, but twice had other unleashed dogs run up to mine. Now they were friendly, but one of my dogs is a rescue. She is very slow to warm to other dogs. She panicked, slipped the leash and ran back a couple of sites to our camper. She was shaking like a leaf. Being that there weren't many people camping, this was not something we expected. Folks were friendly and apologized. I was just annoyed and greatful no one was bitten or hurt. We don't have this issue at most camp grounds. My family and I decided to walk the trails. We didn't realize that there would be a bike club there. There were so many racing around the curves and not all trails are wide. I don't mind sharing, but the high volume made it unpleasant as a hiker. I'm sure it was just a timing issue. An afternoon or Sunday hike many have been more relaxing. Oh and also had some guy walk up to my hubby dust thing when he stepped out of camper to ask if he would m could use the 110 at our site to charge his battery. Said his family's only had a plug for campers. Hubby said yes and guy walked off. Well, every electrical air has 110. Perhaps he wanted to leave unattended, but didn't want it to walk off. It was on the ground using our campers 110 outlet. He must have returned while we were out hiking to pick it up. Best to make yourself aware in park events. Lake levels are still really low.

The lake is really low at this time (Sept 23') but this is always a nice park with plenty of wild spaces.

Excellent swimming and the water was clean. Even though the water level is down it’s still a great place to go . With the heat in Texas I could of stayed the whole week. It was nice .

They won't let you camp on the sand flats anymore. The whole eastern side of the park is day use only now. Very very sad for us. I've been camping on the flats for 25 years+. It's the only place on the lake you can camp right next to the water when it's this low. Some of my best memories were night fishing on that beach. Now my kids won't be able to experience that....without being able to camp on the flats, it just becomes a typical park that you can camp half a mile from the water. This is so frustrating. Sooooo many good times on those flats. Feel like my kids just lost out on so much. Don't California my Texas.

Awesome park with beach like spots and great MTB trails. Park is very big and has 40 to 50 ft cliff faces at some points. Its the same distance for me to the coast but no gellyfish and clear water will make this my new beach destination. No more gulf coast for me

Pace Bend was alright, but not my favorite park (or even close) in the Austin area. If you want to swim, you’d be better off at Lake Travis. The beach here felt shallower, less spacious, and less clean. We were in and out in just an hour. Driving the loop around as we exited, it looked like most side roads/areas were closed off.

Nice park located in west of Austin (40mins from Downtown). Has lot of camping sites within the park and is allowed for Day-use as well.Speciality of this park is Colorado river joins with Pedernales river and forms a U-curve round the park.Update March2023:Day use fee is $5 valid for the entire day and can be booked online through Texas parks website as well. #HappyTrailsPicnic area: Has a nice picnic area with river view

This is a great spot for all year round! We love to come on random weekends or weekdays and just enjoy the peaceful scenery. It's never overcrowded. You can drive right up to the water in some parts. Bluebonnet season is the best time out here.Dog-friendliness: If you're dog loves the water, they will definitely love it here!

I've been visiting this park for about 18 years. It's not as good as it once was. Whomever has taken the reins in the past few years... well ...let's just say it was once much better than now.Definitely a park that many will enjoy. Five to ten years ago I would have easily given this park 5 stars.FYI for TCP (Travis County Parks): Y'all should collect all of the online reviews on Google Maps, etc. Make good use of them instead of just this. Then again, maybe y'all do, I don't know.Charging $15 plus $5 Day Use for camping: Just combine it to make it $20 for camping ($5 for 1 person included). The day use is a given. After all, it is the total. Just say, "This includes day use for one person." If there's more than one person, let folks know there's $5 for each additional person. Of course, this may confuse people, I reckon. Doesn't matter either way.Are y'all still charging yearly park pass users extra in cash at entry during the summer months at some parks? Just include it in the yearly passes. Hopefully this has been done now.If you're going to have an online reservation system, begin making folks pay for reservations when they reserve a spot. There's no obligation for all to show up if they wait to pay at the front when they arrive, if anyone is present to collect money. If someone arrives after the front booth is closed, they're not paying. If they arrive before it opens, they're not paying. If they arrive...This camping visit: I was told the first night had only one campsite remaining. A lot of empty campsites that were said to be reserved had no one show up (minimum of 7 counted, there were more.) No one showed up to those 7 other campsites that were supposed to be reserved the first night. No one.I was also told we couldn't pay for two nights because the second night was already reserved (not payed for)... but ...Will anyone actually show up for the second night? Many didn't show up the first night to the "already reserved" campsites.Have a good day.
