“Wyatt the owner is fantastic. Fresh meat, he won't even accept chickens older than 3 days from slaughter. Grinds his own beef!! Highly recommend for fresh meat!”
“It’s going to be very hard to find a Hispanic (mainly of Mexican descent) in Houston that does not know “La Michoacana Meat Market” … “La de las carnes marinadas” This grocery chain of 135 or so locations is well-established all over Texas and parts of Oklahoma. Fresh produce (some stores have better selection than others) and marinated beef cuts ready for grilling are their speciality. The prepared-dish section includes Mexican staples such as arroz rojo, guisado de res, menudo, Nopalitos, and other delicacies; all followed and beloved by the blue-collar crowd, as well as by the office workers. Some say that there are more nutrients and substance in a couple of Tacos al Pastor from La Michoacana than a burger from the big chains. And tacos are less expensive. Photos to follow”
“May not be the prettiest place, the neatest or the fanciest but when you are crazing some real Mexican tacos and an agua fresca, La Hacienda is the spot! The Barbacoa tacos are simply the best then after that the carnitas tacos are the reason why I drive all the way over here. Their Menudo is also a classic favorite and for those in your squad that is a bit more conservative AKA "picky" then the chicken quesadilla is also a great choice. I do like that this place has several options of meats, salsas, and veggies on the food side. We all get to leave very content. The aguas frescas and the ice cream treats is also a favorite section of ours, the strawberry drink is the one that we all fight for in my family but usually i'll stay in my lane and sip on my mango-orange or pineapple drink. Their coconut ice cream is also a favorite of ours however we are typically too full to eat while we are there. The service is not bad, I honestly cannot complain. I just think that maybe the staff tries to expediate every order since so many people come and go which to be fair, it is fair, I just want my food anyways. The meat market and taqueria does smell like a combination of raw meats and cooked meats too. I have no problem since I grew up in this type of place but if you feel more comfortable taking it to-go then hey, just watch out where you go since the aisles are a little crowded. Juts give it a chance, the place might look a little busy but it's totally worth it!”
“Clean. I would only like to pay when ordering food. pay first and then order double line see what's to eat go pay and come back line to order is not correct”
“This is probably the cleanest most organized michoacana I've been to. Everything looks neat and it's fully stocked. The meat and produce are fresh too!”
