August 2025 by Kia McGowen
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I was referred to Eddie’s Moving Company by another company I usually use, as they were fully booked. I scheduled my move with Eddie’s on June 24, 2025, for a move date of August 9, 2025, with an appointment time of 2:30 PM.
Unfortunately, this move turned into a complete nightmare.
The movers did not arrive until after 6:00 PM, more than three hours late, despite repeatedly being told they were “10 minutes away.” This delay caused me to incur additional fees from my apartment complex, as I had informed management I would be moved out before closing.
Upon arrival, one of the movers became visibly frustrated, claiming he wasn’t told I lived on the third floor. I was cussed at multiple times, and they began moving my items without care or professionalism. When I contacted the owner to report the situation, instead of addressing the issue, he instructed the movers to stop working entirely. They then unloaded my belongings onto the grass rather than placing them back inside the apartment.
I pleaded with them to move my items inside, but they refused unless I paid an additional fee. One of the workers finally agreed to complete the job if I paid $325 in cash, which I did out of desperation.
After the move, during my final walk-through, I discovered my firearm had been removed from its secure location (it was placed on top of the refrigerator, unloaded and without a clip). This raised serious safety and ethical concerns. When I contacted the manager about this, he promised to follow up but never did. Instead, when I disputed the payment, I received a text message saying, “Keep dreaming.”
To make matters worse, the movers smelled strongly of alcohol, which raises further concerns about their professionalism and safety standards.
I am now pursuing legal action due to the unprofessional conduct, mistreatment, and negligence I experienced.
I strongly advise anyone considering Eddie’s Moving Company to look elsewhere.
