About Magnuson Hotel Texarkana
Magnuson Hotel Texarkana is a decent, cheap place to stay with a reasonable rate. It is an older hotel still in the middle of remodeling, so you get what you pay for. The location is okay and very close to the highway, making it convenient. It is also close to food, gas, and shopping. The rooms are really nice and clean, though some may have a smell or maintenance issues like a leaking toilet. The staff at the front desk are friendly, professional, very kind, and helpful. The hotel is quiet with no riff raff, and other guests mind their business. It is good for pets and has plenty of parking. The pool and breakfast area will be operative soon. Some guests advise being vigilant outside after dark, but note the area is patrolled regularly by police. Many guests say it is a great place and would return.

This hotel is under renovation by the new owner so there are some rooms that available right now. We just got there to sleep and left next morning so it was fine. The only thing I can’t stand is smoke in non smoking room. I smell cigarettes or weeds or whatever for the whole night and that made me wanna leave as fast... read full comment
