Self Storage in Wimberley, TX

“The facility is extremely clean, has carts to help with move, the property is spacious, some bldgs have restrooms (I don't know if all of them do or not), overall the property is a 10!! There were 2 issues that I had that prevents me from giving them a 5 star. I rented the unit online; however, there isn't a map to show you where your unit is. I went to the property on a Saturday evening. I attempted to locate my unit on my own, not realizing that a propety map was on the window of the managers office. Instead I assumed that the climate control unit would be in the main building. I pulled up, entered my gate code and tried the various buildings to locate my unit. After my exploring and determining that my unit was not in the main building, I attempted to leave. The gate would not open. It was 8:30pm. I'm locked in with no way out and have 1.5 hours before the gate would permanently lock down for the night! I was petrified. I called my husband to help get me out by entering the code at the entrance so I could leave. I attempted to phone the storage facility and just got an automated assistant. After the traumatic evening, I didn't want to search for my property anymore. I ended up going to the renters office on Monday and was advised that there must have been a glitch in the system because I shouldn't have been allowed in that area and that is why it probably didn't allow me to leave. I was advised where my unit was and I did find it and I was able to go in and out no problem! Why am I writing all this now since I am extremely happy about my unit and the facility. I am only writing my experience to let people know that it is highly advisable to find out where your unit is before you go after office hours, and make sure that you know where the entrances/exits are and the procedures. Just knowing your code is not enough! Does the gate open automatically when you exit? Is there a keypad? Where is it? Etc. This all was my fault, I should have not gone exploring and attempting to put stuff in my unit without knowing all necessary information. If I had, it would have prevented me from having an anxiety attack! Don't just rely on the computer, stop by the renters office if you have any unanswered questions before it gets dark. The feeling of being locked in, is just terrible! This is a great, clean, secure facility!!! 🙂 Don't make the same mistake that I did.”
