“My grandparents live in Axtell and have a bad time with stray cats just showing up. There was a litter of kittens born to a feral mama cat. We caught 2 of the kittens and brought them in for the free low cost spay and neuter to help prevent more babies. The process is easy, to bring them in and they explain everything. We ended up keeping the kittens inside a room. until they were healed and then let them back outside. We never could catch the mama cat as she always outsmarted the trap. Definitely a servixe that is needed and I am extremely thankful they have this program 🙏 they do clip the ear since they are feral outdoor cats. They do this because if someone else traps them they can know they are already spayed.”

“We will always be incredibly grateful to the entire team here. Our dog was attacked by another dog in the middle of the night, and we rushed here in an emergency. From the moment we arrived, they handled everything with professionalism, urgency, and genuine compassion.
It was a very stressful and traumatic experience, but the doctors and staff went above and beyond to care for both our pet and us. They kept us informed, showed real empathy, and made a difficult situation much more manageable.
The only thing we wish is that they were a regular veterinary clinic so we could bring our baby here all the time.

Northside since 1992--well, my parents are still clients, but I moved out of town in 2022. It had occurred to me to leave this review now because last Tuesday, I lost my elderly tortie cat, Sally, to kidney disease, and Dr. Cox treated her for hyperthyroidism while I still lived in Waco. If you need a vet who deals with animals and their owners alike with compassion and empathy, Dr. Cox is your man.
About 10 years ago, Dr. Cox made a house call (though I don't think Northside does those anymore) to euthanize our 21-year-old kitty, Sox, who also had kidney disease. Dr. Cox was so very kind and gentle with our old guy. He injected the sedative and then asked if there was a spot in the house where Sox loved to nap. So we moved our baby to his spot by the fireplace, and we sat and stroked him and talked to him as the sedative took effect. I still remember Dr. Cox saying something to the effect that he liked to imagine a cat on drugs would envision themselves bounding through fields of catnip and chasing after squirrels. We laughed through our tears, and we knew that we had given Sox the best life possible and a peaceful end.

“I highly recommend Lake air for exotics, I accompanied my best friend to take her hedgehog in with a large lump. The receptionists were sweet, we were took back by the technician who was so very kind, they were very comfortable handling the hedgehog and were very sweet. The vet Dr.Emerson was also super kind and comfortable. He let us know kindly that her lump was cancer and to let her live out her happy old hedghog life till it’s time! Thank you lake air”
