Monticello Liquor Outlet, established in 1954, is the only liquor store in San Juan County, Utah, one of the state's largest counties. Originally opened by Jim Pipkin, the store was run by his wife Katie after his passing, and later by their son Fritz. Since 2012, current owners Nichole and Don have managed the store, which has become a helpful resource for travelers and locals alike. This place is small but well organized with friendly staff. It is the only place you can get a drink in about 100 miles and surprisingly the price is very reasonable.
