This place is awesome from the owners to the restaurant and to the marina. Fantastic location with great fishing just across the street. This is not the Hilton Hotel and that is obvious. I do wish all the whiners would get over it. This is a rustic resort with great prices and service. Thank you Scott and Christine for having us.

This is directed towards the food. Most of the items on the menu like the French Dip and the Hot Dog were reasonably good, the Mac and Cheese was an utter disappointment. Even though it was half the price of the regular foods, it wasn't worth the price since it was just a small bowl of Kraft boxed Mac and Cheese for $6! What in the world?? I didn't stay at the cabins, but I still expected the food to be not... packaged. Although the cherry pie was pretty good.

Stayed at the bear paw resort over Labor Day weekend. The toilet in the bathroom was on a 45 degree slant from the floor starting to sink into the crawl space, the water heater emitted massive amounts of natural gas and smelled the entire cabin like rotten eggs, the shower head had 0 water pressure absolutely none and after a long day on the lake my kids could not even shower. Also the shower head was off and when I brought this to the attention of the staff a middle aged man I'm not sure if he's the owner or handyman, pretty much told me I was not telling the truth and after I walk out I could hear him talking mess about me to the lady who works there, the cherry on top was how unclean and unsafe the place was! Better off staying at another resort or getting a small trailer to camp in!

WE LOVE BEAR PAW!!Been coming here for years. We rent cabins - right on the lake.Views are great. Crisp morning air, clean bed, shower, fridge, stove. . All the comforts of home. Now if you're looking for 5 star then look elsewhere. The cabins have a rustic charm but are perfect to settle in after a day of fishing. Fire pits are a plus for usThe boats have a rustic charm but get you out on the lake and back. This resort is older but in working order. The owners and staff are like family to us and all guests that want to enjoy the lake with amenities. . .and at half the cost of anywhere else around the lake.Rooms: Clean beds, hot shower, fridge, stove, fire pit, and available BBQ grill on requestNearby activities: Fishing and gr8 views that are perfect with morning coffeeSafety: Extinguishers throughput the resort.Every boat rental includes a radio with staff just the push of a button away, just in caseWalkability: The cabins are on the mountain so walking at 9000 ft can be a bit of a cardio experienceFood & drinks: Cafe has gr8 food and friendly service

Came here for a few days with my family to try a new area.. I gotta say I'll probably make this place an annual retreat. The food was fantastic. Christina was very welcoming and friendly. The view astonishing no matter the time of day, readily available access to water front and fishing boats. The boats have seen some years but scott had them running like a top. I will defenently be back next year.Rooms: Although some pieces of the cabin were rough, the bedding and cabin was clean, and the newer owners are working diligently to correct any issues found left over from the prior owners. And this place also has full hook up for trailers as well.Nearby activities: Fishing Boats available right off the hotel plus plenty of accessible water front. My son was up early every morning to throw a cast or twoFood & drinks: Although the Cafe closes early(4pm) the food I had there the 3 days I stayed was excellent.Noteworthy details: Awesome view no matter time of day, was nice relaxing at a personal fire pit in front of the cabin after the sun had set on the other side of the lake.

Had an RV spot rented for the 2023 season but were duped out of $1500 (we were refunded $300) for the 28 days we ended up staying…..an absolute expensive & not very funny joke! Anytime time I was ever in the office, there were customers with valid complaints such as no TP or restrooms needing attention, rental boats with mechanical problems, pricing disputes for rentals, etc. Better options in the area for boat rentals or overnight stays if you’re after a hassle free outing. We didn’t make it to the cafe so no comment in that dept.

My wife and I rented a cabin at Bear Paw. I was very disappointed. I expect a cabin to be rustic. I even expect there to be dust, bugs, etc. You're at a lake in the Dixie Natl Forest. What I didn't expect was for it to be not cleaned at all. The floor had not been mopped in quite some time by it's appearance, and when we pulled back the covers on the main double bed, there was dirt and other things in the sheets. Unfortunately, by the time we discovered these issues, it was too late to really do anything about it. Fortunately the twin beds were clean, so we were able to sleep in them. That's the bad.Now for some good. Their boat rental was very good. Without the boat rental part, I would have given only one star. The boats are well used, but they're rentals. It's to be expected. The boat ran flawless, and the young man working the dock was polite, helpful, and knew his job well.

Location is the best part of this resort. It is across the street from the lake. Good view depending on which cabin. Service is hard to rate because the only interaction with the staff was to complain about the room. The complaints: Our dog kept us up all night until she caught the mouse that was running around the cabin. Quite a bit of dry rot visible in all the windows. We noticed the bathroom floor was very mushy. Probable dry rotted. Shower water pressure pretty much non existent. No internet except at the office area.Rooms: Our room was very much dry rotted.

Pontoon boats are in very rough condition, lots of issues, basically not very well maintained But if you there for the fish the boats will get you there. Anchor ropes are horrible but if you lose an anchor they'll warn you that it's a $100 for each anchor and the handheld radio as well. Boat would die when going from neutral to reverse or forward but it did the job! Was asked to not to forget to tip the deck hand which you usually do at the end. Could be a lot better but we caught fish and that's what mattered. Staff could be friendlier though. Most of these older reviews were the previous owners, mynreview is based on new owners.

In a world where we all have our own ideas, our own days, our own houses, our own jobs, our own roles, our own paths, Bear Paw Resort gave me a place to unite and rejuvenate my loved ones. In addition to being absolutely stunning geographically, it was equally beautiful in hospitality. Once the world is able to be shut out and one is surrounded by nature they are able to reflect on just how simple and yet important life is. The BearPaw staff made it seem as if I was a part of their cave. The only thing that was better than the food was the fact that I was able to share this experience with multiple loved ones from different families and different ways of life. The Bear Paw Resort is set up where you can go as a single individual, a couple, a family or even a tribe and they will help you experience Panguitch Lake for a day on the boats, a night at the campsites or even a season just to get away from the world. Being new owners and mostly family run this place made me feel served with love not just in the cafe. The Bear Paw Resort was also close to many other activities and ways to adventure around the lake which was nice for my little kids so I was able to have options. Set close enough to the town of Panguitch that I could go shopping and experience a small town hometown feeling yet far enough up in the mountains that I could also see on top of many birds. This was by far one of the best vacation experiences I had ever had. The Bear Paw Resort in Panguitch Utah is now set on our family bucket list as a hopeful spot to have many reunions and get togethers. Thank you very much to The Bear Paw Resort staff and shout out to the intense photography opportunities. Also thank you to the new owners for maintaining and providing such an amazing place, we all look forward to seeing you guys build this place up each day......only complaint was hopefully next season they can open for breakfast, and the man upstairs wouldn't tell me what is in his homemade beard oil. ( To understand this comment I guess you will just have to book a boat trip ) Sincerely, a normally a displeased hermit.

This is a review of the cafe.Had the Beast Burger...mix of bison, wagyu beef, elk, venison and wild boar. My wife and I agree that its likely the best burger we have ever put in our mouths!!! And we are burger freaks who try burgers everywhere! Just get it if you can! Fries were also great as was the homemade banana cream pie. Very friendly staff.

The food & server were great! BUT, I asked for the code to the restroom & was told to use the filthy port a potty out front
