Prepare to know the name of a solid man named Chopper:
I live in Vernal and can only count 2 times I've ever patroned the O'Reilly Autoparts in Roosevelt, Utah..because they were both during unexpected events with my car while passing through. This time, my car wouldn't keep running mid trip during dinner time/rush hour.
I'm not a stranger to weird looks and being treated like a burden or an easy charge up when going to a variety of automotive businesses. I'm a single Mom and I gotta do what my pocket let's me sometimes. That wasn't the case choosing O'Reilly today. Chopper finished with a customer ahead of us and without hesitation, asked me what he could do for me. I asked if he'd run a code on my car for me. Again, no hesitation. No sigh of mental frustration. THE fastest "absolutely" ever. So fast, I thought the new guy was on point.. Thankfully, no concerning codes and is confident it's my battery. Which these things are usually what I call my Dad about, however, this was my first auto issue since losing my sweet father this last January. (If only there was a phone direct to Heaven, ya know..)
Not only did he jump to help, saw us through by matching us to a battery that matched my pocket book, installed it, talked my son through what he was doing, shared stories of his family, and shook my hand after testing that the battery was good to go and there were no other issues.
I learned through our convo that he was the Assistant Manager and he loved what he does. His actions matched his words and you just don't get that very much these days. What Chopper didn't know or didnt ask was that he stepped up in more ways than just 'making a sale'. He's absolutely a solid person doing a solid job and I believe customer service taught by him would better any community.
I cannot be any more pleased or impressed. Thank you, Sir and thank you O'Reilly Autoparts in Roosevelt, Utah.
