Great place to go for a picnic when visiting Antelope Park. Met the sweetest and kindest lady at the entrance who gave us a debrief for the self guided tour. Don't forget to take along mats for the grass so you can lie down. Wouldn't recommend lying directly on the grass.

Start here and work your way back to the other points of interest on the island. This was a trip back in time. It was great seeing the tools of the past so well preserved. But that’s also because things were made so much better then! Take a shot at roping the fake cattle

What a nice little farm. They leave the buildings all open and allow people to roam through freeway. Amazing history behind this farm. And there is public rest rooms available.

A great historic place to be discovered. It's like an open air museum. The ranch can be self-explored. There are so many things to see.

I didn't know what to expect when heading down to check this place out, but I got a wonderful throwback to the early pioneer days. The ranch is still active to an extent as it's got horses and running water - but the old farm buildings have been converted into a wall-through museum. There's several different buildings with appliances and pieces of history you can check out, along with a big barn that used to house sheep and lamb!Great for a small walk around, nothing too strenuous and there's plenty of shade as well

We visited the "Fielding Garr Ranch" in March of 2022 and we found it really interesting and well worth checking out if you are in the Salt Lake City area! The ranch dates back to the late 1840's when Fielding Garr was sent to live on Antelope Island by the LDS Church. They established a ranch to manage the LDS church's Tithing Herds of cattle and sheep. A portion of the original ranch is now listed on the "National Register of Historic Places"!What remains of the original ranch is comprised of a number of farm buildings that were vital to the people who lived here. Considering the harsh conditions that they had to endure here in the 1800's the site was very self-sufficient!The old homestead house is really interesting and the interior is preserved just as it was down through the years. The barns are open to the public and I would recommend that you walk around the site. Some of the equipment that the ranchers once used is housed in open stalls with a fantastic view of the lake and the mountains! The blacksmith barn and workshop barn are full of tools and examples of what they used in the past while operating the sheep and cattle ranching operations!I believe there are guided tours offered of the ranch however, there was none available at the time that we visited.Overall:I highly recommend taking a the trip from Salt Lake City to visit Antelop Island and the Fielding Garr Ranch. Its a great place to bring kids to take a glimpse into the pioneering past of Antelope Island!

I've been here twice now and I love it. Always to thank them for preserving such a place. But I have to go just once on a sunny day! Both times I went it was rain and clouds.

Stopped by when it was we closed so we couldn’t go into the bunk houses. It was still fun to walk around and see all the old farming house. Kids had fun looking at the horses also.

We took a ride to Antelope Island to see the buffalo herds but were blown away with the stunning scenery and epic views along the drive travelling to, and whilst on the island. We continued to the Fielding Garr Ranchand were really impressed with the historicbuildings that remained there withinformation and rooms sets out as they were back in the 1800s. It was great to try our hand at the lasso too! Really worth a visit!

This ranch was the highlight of our trip to Antelope Island. It was very much worth the effort to check out the buildings and the nearby spring. The workshop was my personal favorite. The experience certainly exceeded our expectations.

First time to the Great Salt lake from California. Great people and view. Nice place to visit. Was surprised how low and dirty the water is. Learned so much about the Great salt lake and how bad it smells. Nice farm out in the distance . Glad to be back in Cali!

Beautiful place with amazing scenery. Nice trip for families as well. The park is amazing and the ranch is a cool historic experience. Unfortunately there was nobody there for horseback riding and no answer at the phone number posted. Make reservations in advance I guess if you want to ride horses
