What a cool museum. A beautifully restored property, original to the WW2 era. All sorts of interesting artifacts and stories. Only $8 as of December 2023 makes this a steal if you take advantage of everything there is to do here.A truly unique place in history and well worth a stop!

Flew in with a small plane. Beautiful runways and spectacular area to fly. FBO was super friendly, helpful and loaned me a crew car over-night.

I was here getting new pictures for my restorative progress piece. Landon took us out and around for pictures and info.I've decided I'll be writing a book on it. The history, the progress, the decay. I'll also have all the prints available to purchase.

There is some neat history here. Although it would seem the real cool stuff is a once a day tour. Which somewhat understandable being active airport. However I all I found was one small room in the back, and what looked like two larger rooms with one being setup for private event. There was no information about where, what, how from the staff so I am sure I missed out on quite a bit. Really suggest those working front counter to be more informative on layout, what you can and can not do.

Where to start...I was there for the air show, for which I cannot complement and congratulate the director, staff, and participants for their work. The airfield is a piece of history, yes. The staff that educate with enthusiasm and real knowledge are indispensable. I cannot, and I repeat, cannot recommend a visit or a day spent here to learn.

Extremely interesting. I have been to Alamogordo, Los Alamos, white Sands and Trinity as my great uncle was the drafter for fat man and little boy. The nuclear museum in Albuquerque has a spectacular history of the making of the nuclear bombs and nuclear power. But, I wasn't until, after probably passing through Wendover a good 100 times that my husband and I finally stopped for the afternoon and decided to check out the museum. Wow!For some one born and raised in Nevada and that grew up on the world's largest ammunition depot, and have an intimate history, to not fully understand the role that the Weendover Army Airfield has at this important time, well...I was beside myself. Touring this area really connected some dots and brought an even deeper appreciation for all the men and women that fought for our freedoms and saved our nation, albeit at a great expense to other countries by developing and actually using a nuclear weapon. This is definitely worth the stop!

Incredible history here. Definitely worth spending some time at this site. Good exhibits telling the story of the creation of the base in 1941 to its role in the Manhattan Project and training and deploying the B-29’s which dropped the atomic bombs. Much funding is needed to restore the buildings. Please donate.

As members of Harvest Hosts we stay the night at the Museum and then did the self guided tour in the morning. This is a truly interesting and well done museum. Well worth the $5.00. The parking lot was level for a quick easy set up. It was a quiet night even though it is close the I-80. So much to see! We would definitely visit again.

This is a very interesting place for a visit. The individuals running this museum are giving a heroic effort to save these structures and the history of this base. They have some very interesting pieces and a tour that visits 5 dollars. Well worth the cost. Thanks Landon for the informative tour. The drive from Salt Lake was about one and three quarters long. Well worth it

Cool place to see WW II air memorabilia. This is the place Enola Gay practiced dropping the atomic bomb before actually doing it. They have some of the dummy atomic bombs on display. Cool air field tower you can climb and a plane kids can climb in; dubbed "planeground" by my 5 year old. Some Hollywood history here too.

A critical piece of United States history. The museum is impressive and contains rich information about this airfield during world war II. I wish the federal government could help to preserve this place. We enjoyed our time there a lot.

Did the self guided tour on a weekday. For $5 a person it's an inexpensive experience. The main building features a very well kept assembly hall and diner area. Many old photos and military equipment scattered throughout. A 1:1 replica of the Little Boy bomb is a main exhibit. Also accessible was a smaller building housing many model airplanes of the time, a gutted out bomber plane, and the airplane watchtower that they still as of this review let you climb up to the top lookout level. Some of the hangers are still intact and they let you visit but were not open at the time of our visit. Other buildings of the airfield are still present but not accessible.

Great stop on our road trip. Lots of good historical information and souvenirs! Also able to visit the plane from con air. There is a small fee for admission but it helps the restoration of the museum.
