Barnard General Store is a clean, locally owned business and a nice little general store in a picturesque, rustic setting across from Silver Lake. It is one of the Vermont community stores with a unique concept. The store has a good variety of everything from groceries, gifts, and basic food items to clothing and other supplies. It features a sandwich and deli area, an ice cream bar, a coffee station, and great breakfast options like cinnamon pancakes and lemon blueberry pancakes. It offers great healthy food and hot food, with outdoor seating available by the beautiful lake. The atmosphere is friendly and it is a perfect place to stop for lunch, especially on bike rides.
Friendly staff! Sandwiches are amazing! We all loved ours. The bread, veggies, chipotle mayo sauce were perfection on the BLT BGS sandwich I ordered. I added chicken to it for an additional charge. Well worth it!

A step back in time with an absolutely picturesque back drop. We bought some of the yummiest cookies, and a giant jug of maple syrup. The lady brhind the counter was obviously OVER the tourists for the day. She wasn't overtly hateful, but she definitely was ready for us to giddy on up and giddy on out.
