652 Granger Road Suite 4, BarreI cannot say enough wonderful things about Heart of Vermont and Dr. Erika Bruner. From my initial contact through the final goodbye, every part of the process was handled with extraordinary compassion, patience and respect.
Our beloved cat, Tippy, had advanced kidney disease, and after nearly 16 years together, we made the incredibly painful decision to help her pass peacefully at home. Tippy was much more than a pet—she was a treasured member of our family and connected me to an important chapter of my life. Saying goodbye to her was one of the hardest things I have ever experienced.
Dr. Bruner brought such a calm and reassuring presence into our home. She explained each step clearly, gave us the time we needed and never made us feel rushed. Her gentle approach allowed Tippy to remain comfortable and surrounded by the people who loved her. The entire process was peaceful and dignified, which was exactly what we wanted for her.
Even after Tippy had passed, Dr. Bruner continued to treat her with remarkable tenderness and respect. The care she showed as she helped us say our final goodbye meant more than I can adequately express.
Although this was an incredibly painful day, Heart of Vermont and Dr. Bruner made it as calm, loving and peaceful as it could possibly have been. I will always be grateful that Tippy was able to leave this world at home, feeling safe and deeply loved. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Erika Bruner and Heart of Vermont to anyone facing this heartbreaking decision for a beloved animal.

Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen
47 North Main Street, BarreCornerstone Pub & Kitchen is one of those places that manages to do everything well. Whether you're stopping in for cocktails, dinner, or happy hour, the entire experience feels polished, welcoming, and consistently enjoyable.
One thing I love is the bar seating area. It's a great spot to grab a drink, catch up with friends, or enjoy a meal without committing to a full table. The cocktails are excellent, and their happy hour is definitely worth taking advantage of.
The food is where Cornerstone really shines. The salads are fresh and flavorful, and the crispy Caesar salad is one of my favorites. Sometimes a Caesar salad can be forgettable, but this one absolutely isn't.
The steak was cooked beautifully, and the truffle pasta deserves its own recognition. The truffle flavor is rich without being overpowering, and it's one of those dishes that immediately makes you want another bite before you've even finished the first one.
The atmosphere is warm, the staff is friendly, and the food consistently delivers. Overall, Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen is an easy recommendation and one of the better dining experiences in the area.
