The Peace & Justice Center is home to the Peace & Justice Store, an economic empowerment project. The store is Burlington’s source for local and Fair Trade products and represents more than 60 artisan groups from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. It is a beautiful and welcoming gem in Burlington. More than just a store, it is a window to learn about other cultures and an open door for discussion. Through educational displays and conversation, the center introduces people to fair trade principles, the communities where products are made, and social justice issues related to trade. It is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting change on social justice, peace, sustainability, and transparency. The center is described as a place where people always feel safe and welcome. It is a supportive community where individuals can be their best and weird selves. For some, it is a special place that provides kindness and caring, offering a space where everyone is undeniably human. It is seen as a beacon led by inspiring leaders who light the way and continuously support others.
From the pictures the store looks great! The address listed here is not the store though, its the offices. From street view it seems the store is on 40 Lake street. Either way super cool!!!!
