Walk My Dog
5 Walden Woods, Essex JunctionSam is outstanding for his attention to detail, love and concern for our 2 fur babies and the videos and pictures, that he sends to us, of our two dogs while we are away. You can rest assured that Sam will treat your pets with the upmost attention. We now call Sam, Uncle Sam in our home.

Sandy Pines Boarding Kennel Inc.
194 Chapin Rd, Essex JunctionI would DEFINITELY bring my dog to Sandy Pines Kennels again in the future! The staff were friendly and dog lovers themselves.
My dog has some special needs and they understood what was needed and happily accommodated. The daily pictures was a plus and to see in the photos that he did not appear stressed was a positive thing as well. When I picked up my dog, he didn’t smell like a kennel which tells me they keep things clean and I appreciate that for my dog too.
The kennel has been in operation for over 50 years and the staff are family of the original owner which says a lot to me, not many businesses can boast a 50 year run.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

1st Republic Brewing
39 River Rd #6, Essex Junction1st Republic is a fantastic brewery! While I am not a beer drinker, their wine is delicious and the atmosphere is A+. They also host a ton of events and everyone I've met is incredibly kind and helpful. Would absolutely recommend.

The Scale
137 Pearl St, Essex JunctionThe food is great. A little pricey. I wish it was more comfortable to stay and eat there. Not a great place to sit down.
Be careful online ordering. It assumes you want tuna unless you unselect it. Picking a different protein does not remove the tuna.

Martone's Market & Café
16 Main St, Essex JunctionMartone’s is a MUST every time I visit Vermont. Their sandwiches are massive. You can customize your own or order one of their YUM options. Staff is super friendly and service is very quick. The indoor seating area is such a vibe and so cozy. I LOVE Martones!

Black Flannel Brewing Co.
21 Essex Way # 201, Essex JunctionNobody stops you at the door to enforce any 'Black Flannel Only' dress code because there's no such thing here, so come as you are. Hang out in the back biergarten, front patio, or inside. QR ordering at the tables brings your snacks and cold ones straight to your table. Convenient, but as always, less personal. Both of their Italian pilsner and Kölsch on draft were stellar. Their soft pretzel was bland like the cheese dip. Mustard was okay.

Oriental Wok
21 Essex Way Ste 110, Essex JunctionBest Chinese food in Essex!!!!!!!
Especially during dinner times they do habit of misleading customers on times when to pick up your food. Meaning if they say 1 hour. It could be 1 hour 30 minutes. Still worth the wait!!!!!

The Tavern
70 Essex Way, Essex JunctionFamily loved it.
I had the wagyu burger, which I absolutely loved. I don’t normally get upgraded foods, especially for lunch but man, I’ll never not here.
My oldest wants to join me next time we go.
It was quite loud there but had two weddings going on and place was very busy, so not a knock on them.
Wait staff was good, and our family will be back

Ray's Seafood Market & Restaurant
7 Pinecrest Dr, Essex JunctionMom and pop shop. Counter service only. A solid creemee but I always come back for the clam chowder and fried haddock roll.
The clam chowder might be the best in the state. The haddock roll I always add lettuce, tomato and onion to- it’s always cooked perfectly which means it’s a flakey and messy sandwich. The buns always buttered and the produce is always fresh on the sandwich.
