Based on the reviews, Hare and the Dog is the best place to go, not just in town but for surrounding towns. The staff is awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable. The manager or owner makes the best recommendations and is helpful even if someone is not buying there. The store has tastings during the summer. It is an amazing store with a fantastic bourbon connoisseur whose recommendations are amazing. There is a good selection of bourbon with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The store also gets things not seen at other stores.

This place has tastings! Every time I’ve stoped in this summer I’ve gotten lucky because there was some sort of tasting going on. This is another on of those, “only game in town” kinda places, but it’s a GOOD “only game in town.” Absolutely worth the stop.

Amazing store with friendly staff! Not sure if it's the manager but one of the guys there is an absolutely fantastic bourbon conniseur and can his recommendations are amazing!

Typically stop by anytime I'm in Middlebury. Good selection of bourbon with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also seem to get their hands on things I don't see at other stores.
