Gratitude for farms like this. We live basically next door but would drive many miles for ice cream and cheese that taste this heavenly....Where else can you get Ojoche sheep milk gelato.....Superfood at its finest!Conveniently located in the heart of beautiful Westminster West, the store is really easy to find and seems to be always open to self serve. The friendly dogs and adorable sheep are just a plus.Thank you Vermont Shepherd!

We drove out of our way to visit this place because it said it was open until 7pm. When we arrived the only living beings we encountered were a couple of dogs and sheep. No one was around so we left to resume our trip home.

Five stars for their cheese, particularly the Verano which might the best sheep milk cheese in New England. If you are near by it’s worth a stop to get cheese, but given that you can’t really visit the farm or talk to the cheese makers, it’s not worth going too far out of your way for. The shack is self serve and has some products you aren’t likely to find elsewhere. Hopefully someday they will be more accessible to the public because they make an amazing product!

This place was somewhat difficult to find and waaaaay off the beaten path. It consists of several buildings and it wasn't obvious which was the retail portion of the farm. We finally figured out the correct building after being aided by a friendly dog who trotted up to the "store" (and I use the term loosely) and lay down in the doorway, forcing me to step over him to enter. No person was there and there was no easily discernible way to make a payment for anything purchased (honor system?). No way to taste any of the cheeses (all goat's milk, though they apparently have cows as well) and the prices were astronomical. Approx. $20 for 6 oz., even 8 oz., of cheese, no matter how good it is, was too rich for my taste so we ended up buying nothing and being very annoyed at having to drive so far. Not sure whether we'll attempt a visit to a different cheese company (also on a farm; looks closer to Brattleboro, where we stayed) but that's a decision for next year.

The cutest little place! If you are staying in the Putney area you should pass by this adorable little sheep farm. It is not attended by anyone and is based on honor system. By chance the owner was driving by and rolled down the window to say hi! She was so sweet and checked to see if I needed anything. So friendly. Also you should follow the little sign that says trail, it brings you over to a small bridge over a brook that leads to larger bodies of water. It was a relaxing, easy, refreshing hike. If you are traveling all of Vermont perhaps you wouldn't go out of your way to come here, but if you are in the Putney area looking to support a local business, take a nice relaxing walk, and find this little hidden place, I recommend doing so!
