Great resort for the family with an awesome little town at the base and plenty of trails!

I'm happy to share my thoughts on Stratton Mountain Ski Resort in Vermont. From my research, I found that Stratton Mountain boasts an impressive 670 acres of skiable terrain and a vertical drop of 2,003 feet. With over 90 trails and plenty of off-piste options, there is something for everyone at Stratton.I recently visited Stratton after a 15-year hiatus and was blown away by the amount of expansion that has taken place since my last visit. The resort has added several new lifts and trails, making it a great destination for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort also features a charming base village with plenty of dining and shopping options. One thing to note is that the crowds can vary depending on the day of the week. During the week, it's relatively quiet, but lines can get quite long on weekends. However, the resort does a good job of managing the crowds and keeping things moving efficiently. My girlfriend had her first two days of ski lessons at Stratton, and she couldn't stop raving about how much she enjoyed them. The teachers were knowledgeable, patient, and created a fun and supportive learning environment. The group lessons were perfect for beginners like her, and she felt comfortable and confident on the slopes by the end of her second day. While the snow was a bit lacking during my visit, the resort's grooming team did an excellent job of making the most of what they had. The snowmaking system at Stratton is also top-notch, with over 1,200 snow guns on site. This ensures that the resort is always able to provide quality snow conditions for its guests.Overall, I had a fantastic time at Stratton Mountain Ski Resort and can't wait to come back. It's a great option for anyone looking for a fun and varied skiing experience in Vermont.

Stratton village has a cute little vibe, dog friendly. Well maintained trails, lots of natural snow on the sun bowl side. Parking staff is efficient and chill, very kind.Mountain itself has nice runs. One of the best IMO in the southern mountains. Camping in the area in a rig there are a lot of options and not too bad to drive to on a powder day the next morning!

Poor experience this past weekend. Would not recommend to anyone looking to enjoy themselves and/or a good value. Here are the low-lights of the trip: 1. EXPENSIVE - Tickets for weekend skiing 189$ (200$ with taxes/fees) 2. WAITING IN LINE 20 minutes TO PICKUP PRE-PAID TICKET3. ANCIENT LIFTS AND FACILITIES - For 200$, I'd expect newish lifts and facilities... or at least in much better shape... 4. DISORGANIZED LIFT LINES - Incredibly disorganized and SLOW! Ultra slow. 5. RUDE SKI PATROL - Poor attitudes. Totally aggressive. 6. PACKED (PROBABLY OVERSOLD TIX) - LONG LINES for EVERYTHING: lifts, restaurants, bars, cafeterias, ticket counters7. NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO SIT AT BAR OR TABLE FOR FOOD 8. POOR CONDITIONS - Ice covering the mountain with seemingly a half inch of actual man-made powder. Few trails that prob should've been been closed to begin with. Maybe this place would be better during the weekday in terms of the lines and crowds, but everything else needs a lot of work before I'd spend time and money at this place....

Very popular mountain resort and my foray into skiing on the east coast. Unfortunately, my experience was cut short by an accident, as I fell wrong on my skis and injured my knee, but I would like to commend the ski patrol team for their kind and efficient service in getting me down the mountain safely in a sled and driving me to the free infirmary for basic care and assessment. The team was so friendly and made me feel comfortable during the whole experience. Someone sat with me in the back of the van to talk to me on the way to the clinic so I wouldn't be alone, and altogether, the team was calm, courteous, and reassuring. I felt like I was in good hands! Thank you.

Decent mountain overall. Few years back used to have great food. Now it's as bad as the rest of the New England ski mountains. It wouldn't bother me that much but they still have the marketing collateral for the prior menu up. So you're told you're getting fresh beef hand formed patties etc but you're not. The Stratton Kids ski group is not led with any attention to safety. I was cut off while skiing by a little kid who almost caused a bad accident. My son was crowded into on a jump in the park by a kid who cut him off and into his line. Both times none of the adults watching the group stopped the kids to tell them what was safe and what wasn't safe behavior. Perhaps this was just a rare occurrence but it made me think all the family friendly pro safety stuff at Stratton was a bunch of marketing baloney. The mountain itself is kind of forgettable. Not bad but it doesn't have the charm of Sugarbush, the amazing layout of Mt Snow or the bigness of Killington. It's still a good mountain and a lot of fun, but the lack of a sincere safety ethos isn't great. I'd also like to say that post covid things have been tough everywhere so I'm sure the mountain is likely trying to be better and probably will improve the things that bother me about it.

We had a great time visiting the resort area. Although we did not visit during ski season, we were there for the fall foliage. What a wonderful time we had. The resort area has plenty of small shops and restaurants to stop in and have a good time. We really enjoyed going in and out of the different places. We also took part in several of the festivities during Columbus Day weekend. We purchased tickets for the brew fest, chili cook off and the concert. What a great time had by all.

I purchased 6 ski classes on 11/25,11/26 and 11/27 to celebrate our thanksgiving. We arrived the ski resort around 8:30am on 11/25. The customer service and the ski school were closed. No notice. No email. No phone call. We had no idea what happened to the ski resort. Until I called the customer service number on the reservation confirmation email, I was told the classes had been canceled because of the weather. I totally understand the ski resort could be closed for the safety reasons but I couldn't accept they canceled the classes without any notice in advance. The staff said they had informed the customers by email on 11/22. No. She was lie. Please see the attached picture below. The cancellation emails had been sent "AFTER" I called customer service on 11/25. They didn't notice us in advance!!!They didn't notice us in advance!!!We drove more than 5 hrs to the ski resort and planed other activities to celebrate my husband's birthday after we dropping off our children at ski school. All of a sudden we had to change our schedule. We had to make any calls to look for other places to ski. The nearest open resort is about 1.5 hrs driving. We went there, spent 1 hr to purchase the lift tickets and rental tickets. My husband has all the ski equipments but he didn't bring them. Because the kids would go to ski school and we planed other activities for we two! Now, he had to buy the ski goggles and helmet again! Because the resort didn't have the goggles and the right size helmet for rental! So that we had to buy them again!Unfortunately, we didn't ski that day. They sold out the right size boots after we purchased the goggles and the helmet! It was holiday! Everything has to be planned in advance! We waited another half hour to return the tickets and drove another 1.5 hrs back to the hotel. It was holiday and we did nothing!!! If they noticed us in advance, we could plan other activities for thanksgiving. We could go Florida, Chicago,... we could cancel the hotel without any charges. Or we could book another ski resort. Even there are ski school, we could bring our own ski equipments and don't need to buy them again. But they didn't notice us in advance! The staff said that she could only refund the tuition. We don't satisfied about the solution, the staff promised that the manager would call us. It was 4 days, nobody called me! I also wrote email to them but no one response! It is hard for people to plan a vacation. Tickets, hotel, activities... everything should be prepared in advance. We were so excited for this vacation after 18 months epidemic! And then, we stayed in the hotel! This resort have very good facilities but their staff don't care about the interests of customers!

Last year we bought Ikon passes so we can check out some dope Resorts around the country. We've always wanted to shred around Vermont, so we came, we done it and now I'm telling you all about it.The gondola goes all the way to the summit, so we started with that right off the bat. The top of the mountain is very windy, so we couldn't really do it for the gram. The slopes were nicely groomed. The lifts were very well maintained. Scenic views all around once the weather clears up a little. The staff is super attentive as well. Constantly reminding these "Other People" to keep their masks up while on line for a lift or inside the enclosed spaces. If you don't like it,, please stay home. The staff didn't wake up today to ruin your day just because you wanna give yourself a hard time. You refuse to wear a mask, they refuse to keep you there. It's that simple. Now go drive your giant pick up truck and take your real tree apparel with you.I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. Specially the fact that they strictly adhere to CDC guidelines and resort mask policy. I felt at peace that belligerent "More American than I" people get put to their place. Where people who just want to "Follow the Rules" can be at ease that the resort has their backs.Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience. Enjoy your awesome yelptastic day!
