This Inn is part of Abingdon history. While there, you can step back in time and be treated like royalty.

Our 1st visit @The Martha was to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The room, the Sister’s Dinner, the breakfasts, Barter Theatre tickets were outstanding due to the staff who were so welcoming and thoughtful. A special staff of Hannah, Sarah, Suzanne, Karen, and Robby makes this historical establishment a place we plan to visit more often.Food & drinks: The food and drinks were excellent @ The Martha. Also enjoyed ourselves @The Tavern.

My father took my mother and I to the restaurant that is in the hotel for valentines day. The place was immaculate. The server Katlyn was unbelievable awesome at her job. She deserves a huge raise.

Great place to sit in front of the fireplace and read, while your girls go off to the spa.

If you are thinking about booking a trip to The Martha Washington Inn & Spa… DO IT! It’s beautiful, romantic, and an all around great experience! We spent the weekend here a while back and it was fantastic! We loved our room, the pool & hot tub, and the restaurant! We also loved our couples massages while we were there!

New Year's Eve event was AWFUL!! We purchased the room + gala package. The room was fine. staff was excellent, restaurant and food were fine. What was awful was the New Year's Eve Gala. The band was "Annabelle's Curse" it was appropriately named - most in attendance cursed them. They played some weird, never-before-heard version of "alternative folk" - most depressing music for NYE I've ever heard. The advertised "heavy Hors d'oeurves" consisted of cheese and crackers, beenie weenies, and prawns. The drinks were short poured. We left at 11:00 and took Uber to The Bristol. Many other people did the same, or went back to their room. How bad is a New Year's Eve party when people who have traveled to get there, paid to stay at the hotel, and paid to attend the event, leave the party to watch TV in their room or go to another hotel?Don't bother complaining, I left a message through the web site, they do not respond.I do not leave negative reviews, you can read my other posts. The Martha Washington Inn earned this review. Consider it when you plan your event.

Stayed there recently for a birthday weekend trip. The staff (especially at breakfast) were wonderful, the pool and hot tub are phenomenal, and I love the location in Abingdon. However, the spa is worth skipping, at least from a treatment perspective. My partner got us a couple's massage and it was honestly the most disappointing massage I've had. The treatment room was freezing cold, to the point that it was uncomfortable to be uncovered. While they had you fill out a sheet with listed areas and goals for the massage, the therapist didn't adjust the massage at all based off that, and didn't check in on pressure during the treatment. It was a let down of a massage, especially considering the price point and that it was a birthday present. The hotel is quite nice and I would absolutely stay next time in town, but I would just skip the massage next time.

I booked a “Barter Theater” package for the weekend as a surprise getaway with my boyfriend. The hotel is lovely and the spa is wonderful! They did a great job making the couple’s experience unforgettable. My only complaint is the morning server at the restaurant was very unfocused. She was very nice, but she didn’t follow up to make sure we had gotten our breakfast. She made us to-go beverages and wished us off without realizing that we never got our food. I had to ask the manager to check for us.An overall great experience, but the breakfast service at Sisters could be better (the server at dinner was great!). The rest of the hotel and spa staff were fantastic!Walkability: Easy walking to the old part of town.Noteworthy details: The spa experience was amazing!

Just a quick review. Actually drove by there today running an errand. What in the world?! Blowups everywhere. What happened to the elegance of this Historic Hotel. Ruined it! I understand for kids, I really do but it looks awful.

This Inn is really special. The history of this place is fascinating and is well presented with many pictures and displays throughout the building. The restaurant is wonderful with great food and service. The whole building is nicely updated while preserving the historical features. Rooms are all different and nicely appointed. The pool, spa, and outdoor areas are very nice.

Stayed there for Thanksgiving 2023.Nice room but very uncomfortable. No clothes hangers.Shower hot water goes cold and does not come back while bathing. Breakfast is included, which it's okay.Had Thanksgiving feast at Sister's. Nothing excellent, it was just okay. Elevator needs TLC. Needs paint and repair scratches. It's a shame but to me this is overrated.
