“Love this place . One of the only stores you can buy exclusively ceramic supplies at on the east coast. I mix all my glaze from scratch I can always count on clayworks having whatever I need to mix my glaze no matter how experimental I’m feeling . I wish they were open Monday and Sunday but if I ever need something urgently on a Monday I can drive to Baltimore to their other store. I also highly recommend taking classes at clayworks studios in Baltimore where I taught for a number of years. They have an excellent studio space and it’s located in very close proximity to the Baltimore clayworks supplies so you will never run out of clay to work with.”

“I'm giving this place 5 stars because I love the concept and want to encourage this business and others like it to continue to grow and improve. However, both times I've been to this store the staff has been...less than friendly. Especially the second time I went.I had a small bag of donations (slider closures, thread, seed beads, jewelry wire, fabric tape) in fact I put them in the $10 bag I'd bought on my first visit. I found a staff member and tried to give them the donations, but they rather rudely told me donations were by appointment only and just turned away from me.I'm not saying they should have taken the donations if that's not their policy, but since a by-appointment-only donation system is not at all the norm for thrift shops in this area, or in general, I don't think a quick explanation of the donation system and how to schedule an appointment was too much to ask. Especially since you not only have to make appointments but they also have very specific rules about what can be donated, including the size of donation boxes and bags. I ended up taking the donations to the Fort Belvoir Thrift Shop which also has a cute crafts section, if anyone is interested.Please work on developing better customer service skills, and make it easier for folks to donate to this place. There are too many much more convenient options of places to donate to for y'all to have such a restrictive donation policy. We want to support this business. Please make it easier for people to donate to your shop. Best wishes!”

“You know that thing you need that you can’t find anywhere? They’ve got it at artistic artifacts. And when you find it, it’s right next to the thing you didn’t know you needed! And when I say they have one of the most delicious selections of fabric, I am not exaggerating. I personally sew and quilt, but they have supplies for many other forms of artistic expression. And who doesn’t love embroidery floss in every color of the rainbow x 100! They are a machine dealer, they have Bernina classes, when I have a spare moment, I plan to take the embroidery class.”

“Lakeshore learning is a great store for any/all of your child's learning needs. I've gotten a lot high quality learning materials across all areas for my daughter's needs as she has grown up, and plenty of gift ideas for birthdays as well. The toys are all high quality and are very durable. Each toy/area also fits into learning different learning categories for your child, so you can improve areas where they excel, as well as buff any areas that might need improvement. I particularly like the workbooks and board games they have there for learning, I know we personally benefitted a lot from the very wide variety of workbooks you can get for any learning needs. Also, they have plenty of coupons and discounts I use regularly, which I appreciate as a customer.

“Grabbed some specialty wrapping paper to send some friends gifts from my trip to China. Wonderful selection, but you may need multiple sheets if your gift is larger than 12x12. In addition to wrapping paper items, they have stationary, greeting cards, and fun games and trinkets for gifts. The staff is nice. They will wrap gifts for you for an $8 charge but you will need to buy ALL of the pieces that you want the gift to be wrapped with.”
