After transferring me 4 times because no one could figure out how to transfer me to the tool rental section, the phone just rang for 15 minutes and no one ever picked up.

Horrible place, they treat the people here poorly, the bathrooms are disgusting, i mean seriously ever heard of cleaning? soap and water? the managers all lack motivation to do the simplest of tasks making it seem like they dont care about the job. Ive been waiting for over 25 minutes for a manager to appear but they never did, apparently they came in late. ridiculous, they dont even know how to lead by example.

We've been here 20 minutes waiting to return our item. We're second in line the minute we got here. Never coming back here again. I advise you never come here, too.

Right off the highway on our way back to D.C. from a Richmond trip, we pulled into this Home Depot. It's exactly like all the other Home Depots with a large garden area and massive aisles of anything you need for a home project. Bathrooms are in the back, but expect some dirt inside. Customer service was helpful and friendly.

I have only written a handful of other reviews in my whole life, and mostly for exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, I have to do this post. My husband and I went in to plan our kitchen and worked with a very nice individual Andre. Although very nice, he lacked any follow-up. We made another subsequent appointment as thought it was just we needed to be in person. He said he would send us the updated drawings and quote via email. I followed up a few times over the coming weeks asking for an update. I then stopped in store twice, both times he was not in, but I left messages with colleagues and they promised me he would get back to me. We had to go with another company after 4 months of trying to get any sort of progress.

This location lies about the items they have in stock and then will refuse to give you a refund. This place commits FRAUD and will keep your money. After ordering a refrigerator, Home Depot told me on delivery day that the item was out of stock. This was the first in an unbelievable series of events that has been going on all month. I cancelled the order days later and was not told anything else. I got a printout that read "order cancelled." I thought I'd get a refund in a few days and that would be it. Over a week later, this store is giving me the runaround and outright refusing to process a refund for an order I cancelled for an item that is out of stock. I was told that the vendor - which I did not pay and contract with - needed to cancel the order, and THEN the store could process the refund. This is unbelievable - a debit or credit transaction can simply be reversed. I have not been given any explanation for why someone else needs to bless my order cancellation before the store will refund me. I am simply told "it's the process."This "process" makes no sense. I have not been told when or how my refund can be processed. I have not been told who will process it or how. Meanwhile, over $1200 is in Home Depot's bank for an item they lied about having in stock. I've been dealing with this all month with NO help. Any other business and this behavior would be fraudulent.

The one thing I ask of you management is to answer the damn phone. I went in 3days ago with all measurements to get a quote for my windows replacement, I was told they need to send someone out to get the measurements themselves for an accurate quote. Unfortunately a guy by the name JIMMY shows up whining about why I need to sign a contract so he can give me a quote I'd pay him before someone comes to take the measurements. Man is telling me him not having the measurements doesn't affect the quote and that he is not the one to take them anyways. I had to ask him to leave because he understood zero about what his own job intel! Man was upset I wasn't there waiting for him when I had a whole family there. He just wanted to sell and had no idea how to do it !So to this location manager pick the damn phone or remove the phone number so we know you don't have one !PS: I work in DC but my properties in question are in Houston,Texas.

Encountered Racial Profiling / "Select" application of rules today at this store I have been coming to this store for years and today will be the last time I shop here. The garden center has half of the plants inside the store, and half outside the store. People REGULARLY take shopping carts in and out of both areas of the store as they shop for plants, heavy bags of soil, etc. Makes sense. I have shopped in their garden center every spring and summer with NO issues until TODAY, when I learned that CERTAIN customers are not allowed to take their carts to the OUTSIDE area where some of the plants and soil are located. Today: I had shopped outside with the cart - nothing was said. I shopped inside with the cart - nothing was said. I decided to go back outside to get a few more basil plants and soil and was suddenly stopped by a cashier who demanded to see a receipt. WTF?! I explained to him that I was still shopping and suddenly he informed me of a "rule" I never heard of and isn't posted anywhere that customers "aren't allowed" to take their carts outside to the plants area. I was confused and shocked, and asked how am I supposed to pick up several bags of soil with nothing to carry them in....like a damn CART. While I was discussing with the cashier, I literally WATCHED several white customers go straight out the door with their carts and continue shopping in the outdoor plant area: NOT ONE of them was stopped, asked to show a receipt, or told to leave their cart in the door. These days there customers walked RIGHT past me and the cashier and he said absolutely NOTHING to them. He didn't notice THEM. He only noticed...ME. This is when I realized this "rule" only applied to CERTAIN customers based on skin color. I went to the Customer Service desk and was told there was NO such rule. I did demand to speak with a manager who did absolutely NOTHING about the racial profile concern, and simply kept saying a cashier can "ask" for a receipt and that it's at their "discretion". .This still didn't explain why I was the only person of color shopping in the garden area at that time, and strangely, the ONLY person stopped, asked for a receipt, and told I couldn't use my cart to shop outside while the white customers were permitted to go in and out the store with their carts - no questions asked and no profiling or harassment. The "manager" appeared to be some little young kid that had no clue what to do or what the issue was or that it was even a problem if the cashier was creating this "rule" only for CERTAIN customers in a manner that appeared to be based on the customer's race or ethnicity I definitely won't be shopping here again. I was beyond insulted to be singled out and given "rules" that didn't apply to the other customers. White customers can be "trusted" to shop outside with their carts, but people of color are presumed to be would-be theives if they try to shop in the same manner at this location. If this store assumes everybody non-white that comes into the store is there to STEAL something, they don't deserve a dime of my money.. I'll go to Lowe's next time and hopefully get treated with more respect.

Worst Home Depot in all of NOVA. 7 associates and an hour later and I was not able to get anyone to help me get a product from the top shelves.

This was my first time coming to this Home Depot location. My expectations weren't high, but this experience was awful. I do not recommend this location for anyone. I only came here for 4 small screws. After trying to find the screws for a while, I asked someone for help. As a customer, I got passed over to a different associate, twice. The first associate didn't help much since she was busy with another customer. The second associate tried to help me, with little to no knowledge on how to help me. He was also unprofessional, asking me questions to help him help myself. I never bought screws before, so I barely know how to find it here. We walked everywhere for it, but no progress. All the associates were unprofessional, seemed very vague about knowing how to help a customer. The associates would also leave me hanging, to help other people while I still don't have the screws. This all happened for an hour. I would rather have them just say we don't have the screws.

I go to this Home Depot almost everyday as I run a handyman business, staffing is definitely an issue but the folks working there are professional. They try even if they are new employees. Unfortunately like someone else reviewed this is kind of a self service store....

Came in about 45 minutes before closing looking to buy a power drill. They were all locked up and spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone to help me. They then made the announcement that the store was closing and to bring your items up to the register. Again, no one to help me get the drill I needed. There were about 4 other people in the aisle with me. Decided to just buy one off Amazon as I left the store.

If I could, I would have given minus five stars. No customer service/ floor help so ever. Wasted half hour waiting for someone helping cut the wood panel for me. Asked three times at the service desk - nothing. Asked to call for a manager - 10 minutes and I am still waiting. The store is literally empty - 1 pm on Tuesday, very few customers, running around asking each other (!!!) to help find staff. Home Depot has become a self service / self-reliance joint. Their radio announcements that their staff is available to help us nothing but a joke. I though only a DC location that was bad in this regard but apparently it is now the brand management approach - don't bother about customer service, they will buy anyway, even if they are unhappy. We need more market competition to Home D

This Home Depot is very very busy (everyone in Alexandria seems to come here, no matter what time of day or day of week) and in a crazy busy shopping center. The store associates are friendly and helpful, and the lines move fairly well especially given how crowded the parking lot always is. I always find what I need here, which is the reason for the 4 stars. The Lowe's is just too far away in South Alexandria.
