Cat friendly waiting room and exam rooms.
They always take great care of my cat.
I especially appreciate that they allowed my cousin to bring him in for an illness while I was out of town.
They also do not judge when you bring in a stray cat in a paper-box and help try to find their owner.”

I've gone here for 3ish years and overall have had positive experiences. One note for me is they've been very flexible and timely with scheduling versus some vets that I have to wait a week or more to get an appointment. They do seem to be lower volume than other offices I've been to, and have gone through a total of 4 primary care vets for different pets. The staff are always friendly and everything is clean.
They will take the pet to the back for certain services, which isn't preferred but MOST do this. Prices are decent. Maybe not best, but not bad. They've been very responsive regarding communications, records, inquiries, medication management, etc.”
“My cat BG is, let’s say “spicy”. She is the quintessential scary cat who runs and hide if she hears a doorbell or a stranger’s voice. Yet, she turns into “demon cat” at the vet. Thus, we avoid the vet unless it is absolutely necessary.
Today was our first visit and I am impressed. She meowed all the way there but once at the clinic- she “calmed” down. She did hiss at the vet and we needed at vet tech to help BUT, she did not require sedation, the staff was extra kind to her, and she did not draw blood.
As a cat parent, I couldn’t be more excited to finally find a vet clinic that is not afraid her.

They give a military discount, if that applies to you, and are always willing to send an estimate of charges for any visit so there are no surprises with cost. Everyone we've interacted with has been so kind and loving to Luna!”
“I have been coming to board my animals for the past 3 years. I can say there has been so much improvement! The kennel manager Joey I believe is his name always assures that my pets are taking care of. Don’t let the comment below of him being rude discourage you from coming to this amazing establishment. I will be reporting the comment about Joey being rude, he is always helpful to me and I have seen him go as far to checking in my appointments and checking me out in the room since my animals are dog reactive. The front desk is also so helpful and doctors they’re just very lovely people. I always recommend Dr.Tobar since he is bilingual and my family mostly speaks Spanish very easy on us.”
“Dr. Connolly Is absolutely hands down the best! She takes her time and listens and truly cares about the animals she treats! Our dog has cancer and Dr. Connolly has been so hands on over the last year and we couldn’t be more grateful for the care she gives our pup!”

“Elpaw has been my vet for years. They have been wonderful with my very nervous dog and do a lot to make her as comfortable as possible. Prices are reasonable, and they don't push for more than you need. My older dog has needed more care recently, and they've been able to accommodate her very quickly most of the time. I highly recommend Elpaw!”

“I came in to have my nine year-old terminally ill cat be seen because I was concerned with his rapid heart rate and thought his condition was getting much worse. I was very comforted at the Banfield Hilltop location who helped me relax and let me know that my cat was doing very well and that I was doing the best I could for him and he was going to be around for a little bit longer. My tech that took care of me was Jacob and he could not have been any nicer and calming. I highly recommend this location just because I was able to have a clean and quiet atmosphere and both the tech and the vet understood my concern and nervousness and were able to put me at ease.”
“VCA Alexandria (Duke St) is the city authorized location to take wounded wildlife, and unfortunately, I have had to make a couple of visits there within the last month. The staff have been well prepared, very easy to communicate with and very helpful.”
“The team here at Del Ray has been amazing. They’ve been understanding, helpful, and thorough with my dog Beefy. When there were concerns about his heart, the doctor advocated for his needs and answered our questions in as much detail as possible. Keef, Erica, and the rest of the team have been so supportive of Beefy. They’ve all been great with him.

“I recently had to put down my pet hedgehog (5 years old and suffering from WHS) and I can't explain how amazing this place handled everything. They fit me in on the same day, and they were just incredibly kind during such a difficult time. The office staff was caring, communicative, and professional and the doctor was fantastic. He explained everything and answered all of my questions, and provided my hedgie with the utmost care. I highly recommend this place for your pet care.”
“Trixie, Maddy, and Ty are incredibly professional and truly go above and beyond for our senior pups Max and Mylo. Overall, the entire staff is kind and helpful. The veterinarians take the time to speak with you, clearly explaining what is going on and walking you through the treatment plans. They really listen to your concerns and always make you feel like your pups are in the best hands.”

“Hometown Veterinary Clinic provided exceptional care for my cat as she crossed the rainbow bridge. On Friday morning I took my 2 1/2 year old cat, Freya, to this vet and the employees there were immediately gentle and kind, taking their time with getting Freya's vitals since she was super lethargic. When her blood work came back with dire results, they were able to welcome me back a few hours later, this time with my boyfriend since he was off work by then, without an appointment so that we could say our goodbyes to her. Dr. Sarcon took care of Freya for both appointments and I couldn't have asked for anyone better, as she was so understanding with how devastated my boyfriend and I were over losing our cat at such a young age. The vet techs were also amazing, especially the one who was there when we put Freya to sleep. She explained that she was the one to trim a piece of fur as a keepsake and made sure to keep note of which section we wanted trimmed. Although we lost our beloved girl that day, I can't thank Hometown enough for their exceptional care.”
