“Baines is one of my favorite places in this world. I've been going since I was a kid and spent a lot of afternoons there as a teen. The book selection is good for a used bookstore, the vinyl is decent, and the food and coffee are phenomenal. I pick up Baines coffee beans every time I come through town. Personally, their scones and the pasta salad are so good. Its one of the gems of Appomattox, and a visit for the cozy ambiance alone would be worth it. I'm probably biased, but I feel its one of the best coffee shops anywhere in Central Virginia.”

“Visited a Monday morning in late May (Memorial Day weekend). It's a small store so I can imagine it being a little crazy busy on a weekend. There was a great selection of merch from NPS/Eastern national. They have passport cancellation patches, pins and hiking medallion and a bunch of other items. Lots of books and apparel as well. There were also snacks available.The two ladies working there were very friendly and super helpful in answering our questions.The Appomattox Court House National Historic Site Cancelation Stamp is also located in this bookstore. It's on the left side when entering next to the counter. I included a picture of it.Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting the park.”
