Worst experience of my life.
When walking into American Eagle I was not greeted at all and was only given glares and whispers by two girls talking in the front, blatantly ignoring me. For about 30 minutes, no one had come around to ask if I needed help until Amy came and badgered me into giving her the items I had picked up to be put into a fitting room. She didn't greet me with a hello and was extremely rude to me by taking the items out of my hands before finishing her sentence.
I continued to look around, asking help looking for a size of a shirt I thought was cute. Not only was Amy on her phone, but she had avoided me and ignored me an innumerous amount of times. She continued to say she would get the item for me, but proceeded not to do so. Instead, she had resumed talking to an employee about nonsense. It had been 20 minutes since I had asked for my item, and they still had not given them to me. I had to interrupt their conversation to ask again for the item only to be met with looks of annoyance and judgement. Amy had scoffed under her breath and went to the back room to grab the item for me. When handing me the item, Amy had given me attitude when I asked to try it on in my fitting room, brushing me off to another employee. When heading to the check-out, I overheard the conversation Amy was having with a black girl employee shaming me and bad mouthing how I look.
I have never felt so much disrespect and shame until this experience. American Eagle, please rethink who you are hiring as staff and please get rid of all the bad seeds in your company. The employee Amy has 100% ruined the brand American Eagle for me, and I will not be returning to this location as long as she is employed.

Thank you Katie for helping me with my measurements and bra selections. Being a postpartum mom you lose a little confidence because your body has changed so much. She helped me find the perfect bra that definitely gave me a boost! I appreciate you so much and will be back to purchase some more. Employees who go the extra mile and make you feel seen are so important. Thank you, thank you x10!

Inside the Pentagon City Mall, American Eagle Outfitters is a larger store than others. When you walk in, the left is men's clothes and the right is women's clothes. I picked up two pairs of jeans for $100 total. Compared to other stores like J Crew and Banana Republic, the jeans are more affordable here.

I didn’t get anyone’s name but everyone was helpful and polite. Lately it’s hit or miss in retail/ customer service so this was nice.

I had the absolute pleasure of being helped by Amy during my recent visit to American Eagle, and I cannot speak highly enough of her exceptional service! From the moment I walked into the store, Amy greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. She was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive to my needs, going above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for.
Amy’s product knowledge was impressive—she guided me through different styles and options, making sure I found the perfect fit. What really stood out was her patience and dedication; she didn’t rush me at all and made sure I was completely happy with my choices.
Customer service like Amy’s is hard to come by. She truly made my shopping experience enjoyable, and I will definitely be returning thanks to her fantastic assistance. American Eagle is lucky to have such a wonderful team member!

I used to really like American Eagle clothing, but my recent shopping experience was very unpleasant. On July 5th, I purchased a tank top with detachable straps. The straps were attached to the hanger when I went to the counter to pay. The cashier had no smile on their face, and after taking the clothes off the hanger, they threw the hanger forcefully into a nearby bin. Later, I was asked to open a credit card account, which required a local ID number. Since I am a foreign tourist, my friend helped me open the account. When I got back, I noticed one of the straps of the tank top was missing. The tank top was on the hanger when I checked out, and the strap must have been hanging on the hanger. I wondered if the strap had fallen off when the cashier removed the tank top from the hanger.
On July 7th, I took the tank top to the American Eagle store at Pentagon City to exchange it. The female store manager said that the missing strap was my responsibility, that she didn’t know anything about it, and she couldn’t accept the return. I mentioned that we had opened an account and there was a sales record, and suggested checking the in-store CCTV footage to see if the strap was still there at checkout. The manager asked me to call customer service to process the return, rather than handling it in-store. I refused to accept this and asked for the store’s number and the manager’s full name, then called customer service on the spot. The manager then whispered to another employee, saying, “They said they opened an account, so we can exchange it,” and told the employee to get a new one from the shelf. She didn’t say a word to me or smile, just printed the exchange receipt and handed me the new tank top. I kept my composure and thanked her.
This was the worst shopping experience I’ve ever had. I feel like this store bullies foreign tourists.

I will never come to here again!!!! I buy a t-shirt and pay for it, but staff forgot to take off the security tag. When I got home I found this mistake. I live very far from here and the parking fee is high, so I cannot go there again to ask them to remove the tag(and, why I have to waste gas for other people’s fault?). I try to take off the tag with some YouTube solutions and finally I didn’t make it. The tag ruined my clothes. The stupid staff ruined my experience totally and I start to hate this brand ^ ^ don’t come to this brand if you want to save gas and parking fee

I went in looking for shorts for work and while they didn’t have all the sizes that I needed available, Jess took the time to look for sizes for me and check online availability. She was so kind and helpful and I had one of the best experiences shopping at this American Eagle because of her assistance. I found a few things and was able to take advantage of their buy one get one 50% off sale on shorts.

Placed a pick up order, was told be ready to collect 05/01. I’d heard nothing so contacted customer service who said my order was delivered to the store 04/25. So I went into store to ask where my order is, their reply was, it’s here but not been packed together yet
8 days later and I’m still waiting to collect my order
20 days later, nothing. Refund requested?

The store is well kept, but the customer service was lacking at the Aerie. None of the three employees during my visit were attentive even though I was the only customer at the time. I was not offered any assistance and had to ask for help multiple times.

This store is highly unprofessional, rather than helping customers they harass them. Just looked at the feedback here, and there are numerous people saying the same. Horrible experience. If there don't set them right, all you can do is just AVOID this place.

We went to ask two different employees to check a price for a T shirt. Their answers were "take it to register", which we would have to wait in a line just to check the price. It was a bad customer service so we just left the store. It was not worth spending money.
