The staff took excellent care of my senior cat! It was a calm environment which helped my cat feel comfortable and not so stressed. All of the staff were so kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Tores explained the exam and results well. I felt like they really listened to my concerns too!

I used to use Nova Cat Clinic as my primary vet, but unfortunately have decided to move on to different vets instead after my recent experience. I brought my cat in back in Nov 2023 because he had black scabs on his lip and was losing weight. Nova cat clinic seems to have moved to a model of having lots of temporary vets who only work there one or two days a week and then are never there again on other days of the week for follow up. One of the temporary vets took a look at my cat at that time and said it was just acne, and we went on our way, little to know it was something much larger that was wrong. Come February I bring him back again, do bloodwork, and the bloodwork shows up clean. Bring him back again because we noticed a cyst like structure on his belly. The temporary vet at that time, Dr Griggs, was so incredibly rude that it is hard to believe. He was very defensive and took any questions to indicate a slight to his expertise, and when we asked if he could take samples of the other scabs he found, he dismissed us and then with all sorts of sarcasm in his voice he said “what do you want us to do? Shave your cat? If you want us to shave your cat, we will shave your cat.” The sample of the cyst we took came back as mycobacterium, which is a pretty serious thing. Dr Torres seems to be one of the full time vets, and when the results came back, we finally were able to reach her on the phone, but since she didn’t inspect our cat, I don’t think she realized the extent of the infection by that point. She only prescribed one set of antibiotics for several months, when later we found out from another vet, he should have been on multiple antibiotics from the beginning because the infection had already spread. We finally went to a different veterinarian and an internalist who helped us out a great deal. Our cat passed away last month from this infection, and I am convinced if NOVA Cat Clinic vets had diagnosed this back in November when I had first brought him in, the outcome would have been very different. I will not be returning here again with the constant stream of rotating vets with poor customer service and high prices.

I recently boarded my cat at NOVA Cat Clinic for a week. Not only did they have excellent top tier care but Susana did an amazing job sending updates with so many adorable pics (she definitely deserves a raise!). I felt so much better and was able to enjoy my vacation knowing my cat was in good hands. I am so happy that I have found a place that has such great vet and boarding care. I will definitely be boarding my cat here again! This is truly a million stars/5 stars place! NOVA cat clinic has it all!

took great care of my extremely vet-phobic cat. i really appreciate that everything is done in the room with you and that they don’t take your cat “to the back” for vaccines/tests. helped me understand my cats immune disorder and were also able to quickly get me in when she got an ear infection. i would have continued using this clinic but i moved out of state.

Went here in October/November for a yearly vaccination routine with My Cat, went fine. The Techs were okay and took care of my cat but when I got the bill, it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Meaning it was A LOT more.
The Doctor came in and was meh. Doctor then said my cat need to have teeth Extracted. I was shocked by the this because I like to think that my cat is in great health. Also, when they looked at his teeth, it didn’t even seem like they actually checked. Seem more of a glance.
After the visit they put us on the schedule to get it done without me giving the okay for that. I had to call twice to have him taken off the schedule.
Recently went to a new Vet to get a second opinion at Bond Vet, they evaluated my cat and said that he DIDN’T need to have any teeth extracted. I was flabbergasted.
So going here “Nova Cat Clinic” we would have put our cat in pain and it would’ve been for no reason.
They also seem like they don’t communicate with each other because we got 4 different estimates for our the procedure.
I don’t know what’s going on in this establishment but something needs to change.

Extremely happy I decided to make the drive to take my sweet fur baby to Nova Cat. The staff was amazing to say the least. From beginning to end my baby and I felt comfortable. He’s not happy when going to the vet but seemed to feel and know that the Nova crew was his people. I couldn’t believe how he responded. The front ladies was so very helpful with the issue I had (scheduling conflicts) I didn’t mind having to wait to get in. I felt they really tried. I went in knowing that all vet hospitals are dealing with their own difficulties, but never felt like they didn’t give things their absolute all. I’ve had 2 visits with them and both times was the same experience or not better. Reading the so called bad reviews they have, I can’t help to think it’s that person that gave them a hard time. Seeing other clients in hospital responding to them was the same energy as me. This place is amazing!

Amazing clinic and staff. Even though they are booked (every vet clinic in the area is) they really tried to find an appointment for me. Kept me updated with changes that would have possibly affect me. I would absolutely refer them to my friends.

They cleaned my cats ears during a dental surgery. My cat came back with no balance whatsoever. Falling all over the place even after the anasthesia wore off. He could not walk without falling. They refused to investigate what happened. They probably punctured his eardrum. He never recovered his balance and he was always uncomfortable with his ear for the rest of his life while I maxxed out my credit card shopping around for answers.

I was disappointed with the service at the front desk and the nursing staff. Despite being the only cat clinic in Virginia, they seem to lack basic knowledge about cat behavior. It appears that their primary focus is profit, sometimes at the expense of the cats' well-being, including prescribing unnecessary medications.

Haven't been back since Dr. Brown retired. The doctors that were there when I went were wonderful. Turnover rate when it comes to staff is high though. I just I'm sad to see such a wonderful establishment become less than. We need Dr. Brown back and the rest of the doctors and staff that were there before. Miss Ellen the LVT By far the best LVT EVER Sad to see such a passionate group of vets and tech leaving HARD TO TRUST THE NEWER VETS WHY MESS UP A GOOD THING?

Very unprofessional.
I went for blood work for my cat. A week later they ended up telling me that the two tubes of blood they extracted was not enough to finish all the test I paid for, and need me to bring my cat in again.
This was after I confirmed during the blood extraction and the assistants said it would be enough for the tests.
Assistants also excessively kissed my cat during tests, which was really weird and a bit concerning.
Cats get stressed easily, I probably won’t take the risk of going to this facility again.

[EDIT] 2 stars because the vet was very professional, sent me the lab results and got my cat the food he needed even though I didn’t want to come back in.
I can’t believe how unprofessional and untrained the entire staff was - never coming back!! First they have us waiting forever for the vet to come back to see my cat which has him pacing in the room getting anxious.
We spend all of 2 seconds with the vet and then some staff come back to do blood work that had to be the trainees/interns because they acted like they had never held a cat before. He’s an older cat and they were squeezing him too hard and hurting him, and then just let him fly off of the table!!! Some other techs had to come back to finished the job who also barely knew what they were doing and they all try to play it off like they didn’t just serious upset him. I get up to the front counter to pay the 500 dollar fee for my cat torture, and when I simply asked what I was being charged for and why you would have thought I held a gun to the receptionists head. I’m not exaggerating when I say she got up out her seat, started to get defensive, and backed away! I’ve never been to the vet before and they couldn’t give me an explanation of what I was paying for.
Not to even mention how long it took for me to get an appointment in the first place.
Idk if I just came on the wrong day and got all the incompetent staff but this place was not it for us.

Thus is my kitten's vet. Quality, professionalism, great care! All the doctors and nurses are very kind and friendly. They are open about fees and give you options.
