“my fav place to thrift! i always go with my best friend and find the best stuff. if you’re big on customer service it wasn’t the best but we really didn’t need any help besides checkout which was fine. other than that it’s pretty clean and i always find a couple good pieces! prices aren’t bad, some things are more expensive than others but most of the time ranging from $1-$15!”
“Woah baby. Consignment lovers, eat your heart out. Fia's offers a real life treasure hunting experience with items that meet every budget and need. Fia's infectious personality will leave you feeling like family. Come for the treasures, stay for the memories. This trip, I found a vintage Nike quarterzip windbreaker, a Chanel cross body, a crochet set, and a Harry Poter novel. Talk about eclectic!”
“Well lit thrift store, big, you never know what you will find! We found some brand new sweatshirts my girls can wear with their uniform for school. We needed some things for costumes for a play and found what was needed. And I donated clothes and toys my kids had outrown. Win all around.”
“Really nice selection of jewelry, clothes, shoes, and home decor with super reasonable prices. Bought some cute bangles. Happy to support and know it’s going to a good cause unlike thrift stores like goodwill. Hope to see this place stay open in the future :)”
“Tomas is a good person for our community Keith is a amazing love the work you guys put in thanks to all the volunteers for my hungry and cold nights going unnoticed doing the most in Alexandria with little effort but bigger than life effects”
“This is one of my favorite places to thrift as it’s so close and I typically come out with some good finds. As others have said, the prices in recent months have started to increase quite a bit- including pricing books higher than original retail price. Still love this place but hope they don’t keep increasing prices so that it continues to be a go-to.”
“One of the best thrift shops I’ve ever been in…I always find an amazing gem. Yesterday it was a new ($800) Brooks Brother’s suit in my size for $42… it’s fun shopping.”
“I LOVE you ladies, your store and even your website! I can't wait to go back!! You have done and are doing such a wonderful job! Your love and compassion shines through in the careful thought that you put into each wonderful display, making the awesome variety of unique keepsakes as well as everyday use items even more enticing, the compassionate way that you always keep your customers in mind while pricing even the higher quality items (such as a fur coat) and in the Huge love in your hearts shared through your donations to charities!! ... and I absolutely love how you all interact with each other and the customers. You are so pleasant, accommodating and seem genuinely happy to be there! Makes all the difference! Thank you!!! Happy New Year!!”
“Very friendly staff, lots of clothes at good prices and also lots of shoes. I wish they had a larger plus size section but at least what they did have was well labeled. I found some good gems!”
“Best selection of any thrift store! Not just books & clothes. Lots of military memorabilia, sports gear, appliances, kids toys. separate jewelry and vintage boutique.”
“small & homey feeling store, comfortably and wide selection of clothes and houseware, incredible cost to value. the wonderful ladies volunteering are eager to assist, as well to compliment your new fit.”

“The offerings at this thrift shop are always of good quality - they often include designer clothing or classic household items. A variety of decorative items also appear, especially for holidays. The staff is always willing to help.”

“The associates at this store have gone above and beyond for me. I lost my wallet at the store and they helped me look and took my name/number. I was assuming all hope was lost but the next day they called and found my wallet! I’m so grateful for all the associates here who put so much care into their job and customers.
On a store note, it’s a great selection and feels cheaper than other Goodwills in the DMV area I’ve been to. I found two great pairs of jeans — one 100% cotton which is hard to come by these days — and a few dishes.”
“HUGE variety, clean, & organized. Profits help local families in need. Furniture, art, glassware, clothing, jewelry. Changing rooms. Prices higher than goodwill but reasonable. And they have a discounted color every week 50-75% off! Good lighting, wheelchair accessible BUT one step to enter. Plenty of free parking.”
“I stopped in to look at a hockey jersey and they did not have my size. They told me to come back the next day, and they had it. They sell things from local artists and the staff members are cool. Welcome to the neighborhood!”
“Prime time has great merchandise and a lot of it.
The staff is very helpful.
It is also quite clean considering the amount of foot traffic it has.
It's conveniently located, being immediately off Richmond Hwy.
There is a different sale every day of the week.
Some thrift shops put on the floor all the items they receive, so buyers need to thoroughly examine merchandise. I have never found the need to do this with purchases from Prime Time. Lastly, the profits help the veterans, who protect us.”
“St. Alban's Opportunity Shop is a true gem in the community. With its recent reopening, it continues its legacy of providing quality goods at affordable prices since 1955. The shop's commitment to supporting those in need is commendable, and I am proud to contribute to their cause. The weekly shopping hours are convenient, and the friendly staff always makes my visit enjoyable. Whether I'm looking for clothing, household items, or unique treasures, the Op Shop never disappoints. It's heartwarming to know that my purchases go towards helping the community. I highly recommend paying a visit to this wonderful thrift store.”
“this is my all-time FAVORITE thrift store. I love the how friendly the volunteer staff are, I love supporting the community, and I swear I find the BEST items in this shop.”
“There’s a decent selection and the prices are pretty good. Most things are around $10, few are above $20. The customer service was phenomenal. I had $13.00 of $14.80 and the cashier waved the difference. He was super friendly about it, too. The person I was with was also short a few dollars and he waved the difference, again.”
“As a donor, the process couldn't be easier: no inspection, just drop your stuff into the bins by the entrance. As a shopper, I have found luck with some of their kids' clothes and books, as well as some beautiful vintage glassware. Personally their adult clothing and shoes haven't caught my eye, which they dedicate 75% of the store to. I'd prefer a more curated adult clothing selection as I find the quantity overwhelming with too many items that I think no one is likely to buy.”
“This is a lovely church in Georgetown and just a short walk from M Street. I have been here twice now, once for a funeral and recently for a much more happier occasion, a wedding. It is beautiful inside and well worth a look if you find yourself this way or want to have a wedding here, or a funeral.”
“Their hours a limited, like all NMCRS thrift stores (Tue., Thu. 1100-1300; 1st Sat. of the Month 1000-1400) but it's the only one in the DC area. They have a whole room dedicated to Navy and Marine Corps uniform items. If you need extra khakis or whites, check this place out first before going to the uniform store. Occasionally they'll have bridge coats or pea coats or even mess dress (typically only men's though). I've been told there are other thrift stores with a better selection of women's uniforms but this is the closest one to me and it's better than nothing! They also have a variety of rank devices, ribbons, metals, belts, and all those other small uniform extras that you'll inevitably loose and need to replace. Also a great place to donate rank items when you promote (including the ones that you might have to sew on!) In addition to uniforms, they also have a decent selection of clothing. They have small collections of toys, books, and housewares, and try to set up a seasonal display. Items will be discounted towards the end of the season and prices are generally fair for a thrift store. They just recently started accepting credit cards and were previously cash or check only which is a huge and much appreciated change. You need a military ID to purchase uniform items and base access to get to the thrift store, but it's a great bonus for the local military community.”
“Love this place, lovely family owned store. They're always so helpful. They pretty much have everything you need especially in an emergency. Best part is we get to keep money in our community over national brands. If you live near by and want them to have something that you know you'll continue to buy they are willing to get it to have it on hand for you (of course be reasonable).Just be careful walking in here as there is A LOT so make sure you are careful where you're walking.”
“Some neat stuff if you’re really looking but very overpriced. They overflowing with stuff so I image they can’t get rid of it with their prices.
For example, saw this glass jar priced at $15 each when the original Target sticker is still on the bottom for $5. They also had individual wine glasses for $10-15.”

“What can I say... Thrifting a.k.a. recycling is the way to go. I can't tell you how many things I find that are brand new with tags & this location is no different.I went in specifically looking for some French onion soup crocks, and I found them in brand new condition $3.99 a piece whatta baaaaahhhgin! This location has a bunch and I mean a bunch of brand new with tags George Mason University spirit wear aka shirts & sweatshirts, so if that's your U then go get some gear here for dirt cheap...waaaay cheaper than the campus store!I will say I find Salvation Army, at times, a bit more expensive than Goodwill or Unique but they also have a different selection so you just need to dig. This location also has a drive-through drop off for donations, which I utilize all the time, and they actually retrieve it from your car for you which is amazing. Profits are re-purposed into the programs that they support and used for the good of all concerned.”
“They have an entire floor downstairs dedicated to upscale furniture and housewares. Designer clothing upstairs and reasonable price. Just don't expect thrift store prices.”
“i'll guess i'll start with this as a story (my testimonial if you will) so i had just moved from front royal to alexandria in the fifth grade of elementary school (yeah with mrs brown with her catch phrase save the drama for your mama and in hindsight maybe learning it could be a 'sanctuary city') my parents and i were looking for some cleats for weight league football (it was the bucknell tigers i think 75lb the next up from 'ankle biters' as a offensive lineman) and i found a pair that i thought after that all my troubles would be gone (later getting my military benefits that solved basically everything) so today i have my military benefits (eg paycheck healthcare health insurance etc) and am a mostly happy worry free veteran (a huge part as a kid was mil beneficiary kids in public school guiding me to maybe a better future to hear warnings or suggestions too) maybe things like those cleats helped me get to where i am today (home owner too and a pretty good car that i have to pay off) it was actually a red pair of baseball cleats but i wore them for a few games and got my parents money's worth out of it and met a neighboring business in the process and they were warm gracious and kind and realso there's three personalities (i think those are all the 'old heads' here) i like here a korean veteran a light skinned manager and a black female cashier they're all very helpful and charming and inject style and taste to this place with good personalities and good attitudesso through the years i've had some great times here for example i remember once before i left for the army i found a awesome unisex leather jacket (it was dark red and had stitches all up the back and may have been a little like brad pitt in fight club before rethinking if that was a good movie or not) while i was rock and roll skinny (btw there were many things i saw here that i wanted that i was certain would help me i don't know if it was the kindness of charitable donors or social workers community efforts to guess but there's been times where their selection really nailed it) later when i was about to move to luray i found another leather jacket that was pretty chill um it reminded me of a picture of a newer music group i saw twice the orwellsone story was when i was on cavalier drive which is sort of a famous neighborhood in a way that's where there's some long term locals at like i think the founder of the 29 skate crew thing so i saw one family (the wife of a couple who lived really long) would regularly come here and load up with that in mind what i later thought was if it works for them it'll work for me so when i was having my awesome lively artistic days on the block (regular dc nightlife or hobbies too ergo family barbeque movies i shot) i'd come here and load up on some stuff to bring home sometimes just the novelty of it but there were times where i'd really read into it and think 'this is a great deal' 'this looks like this will actually work' 'this is really thought provoking' 'this'll probably circulate and it'll get used' 'yeah that makes sense' 'that saves me some time' 'this is better than the alternative'there could be a lot of good aspects and traits (firm prices quality goods rarities um) here that i appreciated i found some vinyl records for exampleam vets are by the fort hunt neighborhood and the newer costco i've rode my bicycle here before it's farther from outside the gate of fort belvoir it's off rt 1 it's on sherwood hall lane also it's by some section 8 housing and a church and police department too and the library is further outi've donated here before and thought that was probably rewarding too also the military style here is cool to think of that influence some korean things i really like are the barbeque another would be the celeb irwin winkler he did rocky”
“[Part of Giving Tuesday 2019] I can only write from the perspective of a volunteer/donor, but Martha's Table seems to have a strong mission towards helping children and families in the DC area. Our class wanted to organize a clothing/food drive, and Martha's Table seemed to have the most bang for your buck. You can always donate in liquid like every other organization, but not as feasible for someone on the student lifestyle. There's plenty of drop-off locations for clothing and baby items across the city. If you can give food items like canned and dried goods, you gotta go to their Maycroft location on Columbia Rd NW. Easy to just reserve a 15-minute appointment on their website and drop off our load. I see their trucks all around the city serving the community - here's to hoping everyone's littles go a long way.”
“I have only had positive experiences here. The volunteers who've helped me have been lovely, interesting women. The inventory is pretty incredible, mostly jewelry and home wears. Many things will be listed well under market. To me, it's been a treasure and hope others have good experiences, too.”
“The volunteers are so sweet and helpful. There are so many treasures to be found. Everything I purchased was lovely. I was so impressed I decided to become a volunteer in the store.”
