“Without question, this should be your choice for auto care in the Hanover/Ashland/Mechanicsville area. Their work is excellent and fast, but their service is what sets Economy Auto apart.

First, their communication is excellent. Throughout the process of your car getting worked on, there is constant communication and nothing is done without your approval. Economy Auto also does a very good job of explaining your options in a way that is easy to understand.

Second, the overall service is outstanding. I have been in a situation where, at no fault of Economy Auto, a defective part was used in a repair on my car. Not only did Economy Auto fix this at no extra cost to me, they also scheduled and paid for a tow truck to get my car to their garage so that they could get it fixed as quickly as possible.

Finally, their pricing is fair and transparent. Whenever possible, they pass on their savings to their customers. It's never fun to pay for auto repairs, but at Economy Auto I am always confident that I am getting the best deal possible.

I will not take my car to any other auto shop, and I would strongly recommend to everyone else that they should also go to Economy Auto.”

“5 Stars for being the biggest scam in Ashland. Seems I'm not the only one giving this place a review about bad faith Commonwealth of Virginia State Vehicle Inspection, charging for work not performed and suboptimal work ethics. My vehicle was towed in with 2 issues. A bad power steering pump and a rear driver side brake system locked up. Months went by like others have said too and I get a call saying it's ready. They did a test drive as usual however when the employee pulled back up to the shop with my car, I heard grinding coming from the same rear driver side tire. I asked about the noise and he stated it was just a rock. That rock was really the brake pad rivets grinding my rotor. I made 17 miles before it locked up and blew out my tire. Glad my kids were not in the car or my oldest driving the car. When I met with the owner and showed the pads and rotor he shrugged it off like not his problem. If you have loved ones avoid this place. You could potentially be putting yourself or loved one in harms way. This place brings a bad name to Ashland Mechanics who actually care and aren't doing wrong by people. Everybody can't be wrong!! Just read the reviews and skip this place. Wish this review had a spot to upload pics.”

“Slow oil change service and appointment does not get you through the process any easier or faster. VIP customers are no better treated or provided for the the average JOE. Used to provide separate lounge with TV, bottled water , snacks and less crowded lounge. No longer treated as valued customer. :(”

“There are good people Cauthorne's Auto and Tire! I have a "well aged" 2011 328i - X-Drive BMW.... I'm sure this is a relatively obscure tire model (and unsurprisingly.... expensive to replace). My back left driver side "run flat tire" blew out on I-95 South on the way back from Northern Virginia to Richmond, VA... and I managed to "limp in" in spite of a huge gash that opened up in the tire for unknown reasons. Cauthorne's Auto and Tire (Ashland, VA) was able to find this relatively obscure tire and had me back up and running in only a couple days. The price Cauthorne's charged for the replacement tire and their cost of service was commendably fair and honest. It is refreshing to have experiences that confirm there are still good, fair, and honest people. (I even asked if it would make sense to go ahead replace both of the back tires... and Cauthorne's gave honest advice and said that all of my other tires looked to be in good shape and didn't think replacing any of the other tires was necessary at this time). Cauthorne's had impressively timely service.... it was a great experience overall!**** Also, thank you to the kind people (and especially the store manager) at Advanced Auto Parts - 307 S.
