Took the vehicle for service. I had 3 error messages come on. All regarding parking sensors. They told me they found nothing wrong. Error messages back on this morning.

I purchased a 2020 Toyota Tundra from Carmax on 12/29/23. I just had the first service done today 2/29/24.I found that in their '125+ details we inspect' on their website, they apparently don't look at the engine air filter or cabin air filter, or make sure there is a gasket on the engine oil drain plug, or check tire pressure. I found both of those filters very old and worn when doing the first service since buying it. It had 5,000 miles on it from when I bought it and was only 2 months after purchase. They clearly didn't check or replace either of these filters, and didn't even put a drain plug gasket on the oil drain plug. I've attached pictures of all of these items as I found them. I also found the spare tire was at only 15 PSI (the label on the vehicle says the spare tire should be at 33 PSI). They clearly didn't check this either. I wouldn't have had a usable spare tire since at that low pressure on a truck it would be flat after putting it on. I was also told I would be given 2 keys, as was listed on the carmax website description of the vehicle. When I was there to buy it, they told me they only had one but would get a second one. One was not provided. I'm having to take the vehicle to the dealer on my own time to get a 2nd key made. They have said they will reimburse me for it (will update after that is done or not done.) After seeing the condition of the car, it truly seems they never did service the vehicle. I would not recommend buying a car from them after this and won't go back in the future. I am an ASE certified Master Technician with more than 10 years experience. I know what I'm looking at and when a vehicle has been serviced or not. This one was not. Although I was told it was and their website and advertising states they do service them before selling.

We liked the online experience of the actual shopping for a car. We also like the entire process of selling our car. The problems that we experienced are this:1) Each time that we had specific questions about a vehicle, our local branch did not have the manpower to expedite the questions to the other branch’s that had vehicles that we were interested in, and days later we found that the vehicle was now gone. This happened twice.2) Getting thru to a live person at the local branch in Bristol Tn was almost impossible. Being able to reconnect with the same person a second time was totally impossible. We ended up going elsewhere to purchase our vehicle.

I was buying a car, not because I wanted to, but because I had to. I had totaled a car I loved in a car accident. I couldn't afford the same car over again and that was hard, but Debbie made my experience as good as possible. She understood my feelings and really wanted me to like my new car. I didn't love it as I drove it off the car lot, but it has grown on me and now I enjoy it. Debbie understood that a car is not just a car and was so great about everything. I had a wonderful experience at CarMax, mainly because of her.

This review is specifically for a salesman, Ronnie Buddinger. My niece was in desperate need of a vehicle. Ronnie stayed late to help her and was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend that you go see him!

It is not handicap friendly. Unlike other CarMax lots, this one did not have a golf cart. It was difficult to see the entire lot for somebody who is handicapped. Otherwise the staff was friendly.

The buying experience is very easy no pressure sales. If you like it then buy it. What I don't care for and this is the 2nd vehicle I bought from them is they have to do a better job at cleaning the vehicles before the sale. Both times I had to go and clean the vehicle myself. If someone spends that kind d of money then clean the car up for the customer.
