“Needed to get my fingerprints done for a volunteer opportunity with a Fairfax County school. The closest option to my home was Hanmi Post. The location is tucked in the rear from the Main Street. The hours were serviceable, convenient and plentiful. I was in the store for less than 5 minutes, I had a scheduled appointment for 10:00 a.m., and was walking out by 10:03 a.m. The gentleman working was very soft spoken, polite and courteous. Would recommend this location if you need fingerprints done. Enjoy!”
“I had a very positive experience at the post office today while renewing my dad’s passport. One of the staff members helped both of us with great patience, kindness, and professionalism throughout the entire process. She took the time to answer our questions, made sure everything was completed correctly, and treated us with genuine care and respect.

“One of a very few usps I would give 4 Stars. Only for the Friendly and helpful stuff.
The -1 Star is for the temperature. It was freezing in there, same temperature like outside. Also The shipping forms was not stocked and labeled, so I had to stay in the like asking for a shipping form to fill it out afterwards and then to go back to the line to send off my package. Time consuming of 45min. But I wasn’t in the rush, just freezing ? and like i said, the stuff was very nice.”
“Abraham is our mailman. He not only takes the time to bring us the mail everyday, but he also does it with such a positive attitude that we are compelled to greet him each and every time. Abraham goes above and beyond just delivering mail. He takes the time to connect with his clients and he finds a way for us to get our packages on time and in good condition.
Whenever something is wrong, he empowers us by giving us guidance on what to do or where to go.

“I visited this post office today for a new passport, I was helped by Sunisa. 2 yrs ago she also assisted me with my kids passports. She is always so friendly and provides the best customer service. I really appreciate her making the process so easy and pleasant. Thank you Sunisa for all you do!”
“Came in for a passport appointment. Was immediately helped at the window and had all the paperwork in order. That’s when I realized I forgot to bring the check to pay. They said I could also use a money order if I had a debit card on me but I didn’t so they said that as long as I could return today with a check it’d be fine and they’d add it to my application. Came back an hour later and another employee helped add the check to the application since the person who was helping me earlier was on break. The staff was super courteous and helpful. Imagine if this was the DMV, they would have made me make another appointment for another day.”

“Jovan at the front desk is wonderful, he helped me out a lot. And when a trash can was on fire outside, he jumped into action looking for a fire extinguisher, which that location didn’t seem to be supplied with. But I could tell if he did have one there, he would’ve saved the day. USPS better put some fire extinguishers in! Either way Jovan cares and he deserves a raise.”

You can get greeting cards as well displayed on a rack, USPS shipping supplies including envelopes and boxes for flat rate, stamps, stamped envelopes. “There was no line in the middle of the day during the week. It was quick and easy and they were helpful. Not sure why the low rating, it’s the post office. You can’t expect white glove five star service every time they are super busy and nonstop. But perfect visit today.”

“2026 update - Good service and facilities here, 10 years later. No, still no automated machines, but USPS is now in the midst of hard times. I had no wait, the clerk was knowledgeable and attentive, and actually prompted me to request free tracking on the two packages I mailed. I just wish I'd comed a week earlier so I could have bought FOREVER stamps before the price when up to $0.82. Adding that fifth star bc I still don't understand the hate here.
[2016]Why all the hate? I visited one afternoon to buy stamps. The line was short, and the clerk went out of her way to show me stamps. There are no automated stamps vending machines in the lobby, and I'll wait for that before I add that fifth star.”
“I see a lot of negative reviews but I have to to do the opposite. We walked in with a newborn near the end of the day and they were able to very quickly get us in and out , while expediting ahead of a vacation. They were super helpful and willing to accommodate !”
“The postal reps were super helpful (today, 16JUL26) and also very patient even when I made quite a few mistakes on my customs forms. One rep was a person named Ch****e (I don’t want to put her full spelled out name here so that I can protect her privacy, but I wanted her to know that this was an appreciation post to her and I hope she gets lauded by her bosses .)

“Some things just stand the test of time, and the Dunn Loring Post Office is one of them.
My family and I lived in Dunn Loring from the late 90s through 2003, and this little post office was a constant in our lives for decades. It holds a special place in all our hearts, and when I had the chance to visit again in April 2026, the nostalgia hit me the moment I walked through the door.
It felt exactly as I remembered, the same charming, old-school small building, unchanged and unpretentious. My kids grew up coming here with me, and standing there again, I could almost picture those earlier days, with packages to send, holidays to prepare for, and always a familiar face behind the counter. In a world where everything seems to change overnight, there is something deeply comforting about a place that simply stays the same.
The staff were decent and genuinely helpful, taking care of us with a warmth that reminded me exactly why my family and I loved this neighborhood so much.
To the whole team at Dunn Loring USPS, from my family and me, a heartfelt thank you for so many years of wonderful service. You may be a small office, but to us, you were always a big part of home.

“I used to really dislike coming to this post office because my earlier experiences with the staff were not great. Some employees came across as rude and unhelpful. It honestly made me avoid this location whenever I could.
However, over the past few visits, I’ve had a completely different experience thanks to Sushil. He has been consistently kind, patient, and genuinely helpful.
It’s made a big difference, and I really appreciate the positive change. I hope this kind of customer service continues!”
“I read a lot of the 1 star comments before posting my review because I was curious what was so horrible about this place. And wow do you people need to get a grip on reality.
Those complaining about the lunch time, one even saying they should add staff to rotate so its not closed for lunch, do you say that about doctors offices or other professions that go to lunch? Everyone deserves and is LEGALLY required to have a lunch break. If you dont like the hours, don't blame the location, call the main office and complain, it's them who set the time.
Those complaining that they are asked to leave at 5pm closing time, tell me this, do you leave your job at the end of your shift or do you stick around and continue working without being paid? They have a hard enough job as it is with people yelling at them all day for things out of their control, they have families and a life they'd like to get back to just like you.
Victoria, the older lady I see people complaining about, is a good caring woman. Every time she see's me she asks how my mother is doing and we have a nice little chat with smiles and laughter! Would you like to know why I get that treatment? Because I'm kind and understanding of her position, and the struggles of her job. Customer service is a rough job no matter the place, and if you do it long enough, you get tired of people's attitudes and harassments and start giving it back, so I don't blame her for how she treats some of you with the attitudes I'm reading you're giving her. Put yourself in others shoes before you judge!

“The blue button for package drop off is broken (step 1), but the scanner still works (step 2). I heard a beep when it scanned, so I placed my package in the chute (step 3), closed it and a tracking link was printed out. 24/7- nice option to have nearby!”

“Such a lovely team of workers! A package of mine was mislabeled by the seller, and had been incorrectly marked as delivered. Rather than filing a claim online, which can take days/weeks, I opted to go and visit the post office. Even though I arrived 30 minutes before closing time, the workers were extremely accommodating and located my package. By the time I arrived home, it had been properly delivered. She handled the difficult customer in front of me very professionally. She also made me aware they had tape for my package that I could get, and it was a great price.
