“I couldn’t get my 19 year old Trek hybrid into 1st gear, and it was annoying because we live on a big hill in Charlottesville, Virginia. So I watched about ten YouTube videos, concluded my derailleur hangar was bent and my derailleur needed replacing. After they arrived, I mounted each on the bike, pondered why it didn’t look quite right, or change gears. Then I moved on to other distractions, and the bike sat in my basement for about a month in this sad state. Finally, I swallowed a little humble pie, called Blue Ridge and brought the bike in. Curtis fixed it in about 15 minutes - that day - and walked me through what to look for when indexing and maintaining the cable (he also replaced the frayed one). He knows bikes, and he is happy to help riders understand the mechanics and proper maintenance. All in, it was less than $35 and now it rides like a dream. I should have started there, and will next time. Thanks Curtis!”
