“My kids love going into this toy store and so do I when we have the opportunity. Such a wide range and selection of fun and beautiful things. Friendly staff. I also order from them online and get things shipped since we aren't local.”

“Love the UVA bookstore. Have to stop in any and every time we are in Charlottesville. Best assortment of fan gear and branded items around. The hat selection is extensive. I wish they carried more big and tall items.”

“Out of state customer here. I have to say, Hello Comics Uptown is awesome. They have one of the best services out there. At a time of despair, I tried finding a Manga Box set that is unfortunately sold out everywhere local to me and even online. While searching for it some more, I came across the Hello Comics site and saw that they had it in stock. I wasn't really sure if this was a reputable site though, so I searched for their Facebook Page and also called them to make sure the website was accurate in saying the Box Set was In-Stock. A nice lady answered, and was patient with me when I was deciding on buying the Box Set from them.To end this amazing experience, I go ahead and order it and it gets packed and shipped the very same day. It arrived at my doorstep with zero damages or issues whatsoever. They included extremely well packaging and padding. With this said, I would 100% recommend Hello Comics to anyone who collects Comics and Manga. Especially if you are Out-Of-State from where they are located, like me.”

“A used book shop that feels magical when you walk in. I can spend days, weeks there. There is a humongous history room in the back. So many hidden gems. And the owner is the sweetest gentleman who has been running the store since 1982! You can tell so much love was put into this book heaven. Thank you, sir, for this beautiful place! (People, don’t leave town without paying a visit here!)”

“Fantastic selection, I bought sci Fi, mystery, Spanish language, children's books. I had to literally drag my mother out of the store. The owner was so helpful and even gave me a suggestion that I wouldn't have thought of. If you love reading and want to save money ... Go to the Book Room to fill your book room.”

“Blue whale books is a super aesthetically pleasing bookstore focused on historical and nonfiction literature. The store is organized very well with clear labels and signs designating each area of the bookstore, including the small prints and maps section, which includes original local and country-wide maps. The highlight of this bookstore (for me) was the dollar-shelf where every book was only a dollar. I found two exceptionally interesting books which set me back virtually nothing. The person working the store was helpful in checking out although he expressed disbelief when I tried to pay using American dollar coins (innovation dollar series) which was completely understandable.”

“if magic is real, there’s definitely a portal to another world somewhere in daedalus.wandering through the shelves is like a delightful labryinth, with sections covering every genre. the books are decently priced, too—perfect to find something for a used book as a gift or to add to your own collection. i got three on my latest visit.i would note this store could not be any less accessible. the stairs and close shelves are not ideal if you need space to get around.”
